Not one with the possible exception of Joe Louis because of his power, perscision, and fast hands, But that's very debatable. But from 1960 on up, quite a few, Ali,Holmes,Foreman,Liston and Tyson in theire primes of course, A fresher Holyfield, possibly Bowe on a good night, Shavers,Lyle,Cooney like Mcall and Rahman All have a Punchers chance.

And your posts would rival a Disney movie, how the hell can you pit Marciano against Lewis when they're not even in the same weight division anymore?

The simple answer is that the OP asked for which old time heavyweights would most likely beat Lewis and Rocky qualifies as an old time heavy. We have had hundreds ,literally hundreds of threads discussing old time heavies,[Corbett,Fitz,Johnson,Dempsey,Tunney etc,] versus modern ones and you never got your boxers twisted over it .WTF is unique about Marciano? Is the prospect of Rocky being badly manhandled by a superheavyweight more than you can bear to contemplate? It's a nonsensical attitude to adopt! Rocky The Sacred Cow surfaces once again!
I'd also point out that I wasn't the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or even the 4th to mention Marciano's name! I just commented on others remarks about him and their opinions agreed with mine!

Name me any fighter around Marciano's size that would do well against a fully switched on Lewis.

That is totally irrelevant to the question being asked by the OP! . The only one I think has a shot is Dempsey because of his quickness, and I've already alluded to this. You are arguing with yourself about a question that hasn't even been asked!

Well every fighter has a shot but let's be realistic here, Dempsey would likely be flattened within 3 rounds if he ever got in the ring with Lennox Lewis.

I'd take Fedor over Lewis in an MMA match ;)

When do you think he began his reign as Marquess Of Queensbury Champ?

1885...what’s your point? I’m just saying that if you look at his full record on Cyber Boxing Zone, he was much more active than you indicate.

looking at boxrec, Maybe Melvin Epps, who was one of only 2 sub 200lb fighters lennox fought, wasnt completely outclassed, although he may have been if the fight continued longer.

Tua was the closest to Rocky, in style, and may have even been similar in size, if he had trained the same. Tyson is the other who is probably next closest. Neither really had the workrate that Rocky had although arguably both may have hit harder than Rocky. Lennox came through both tests as well as is possible, and you would have to consider that Rocky faces a very difficult proposition stylistically.

Looking at the question, i think that obviously the biggest hope is a big hitter. I think this leaves (assuming pre Ali as the test) Liston, Sullivan and Dempsey as the 3 biggest chances. Maybe even Fitzsimmons, as stupid as that sounds. Still, this assumes a KO win, and i think outside of Liston it would take a KO performance in a fight each were losing for this to happen. Joe Louis on sheer class must be a good chance, although i am not sure i would bet on it if my life depended on it. I think Louis might just outpoint Joe and keep the fight at a distance well enough to frustrate him into a points loss. In fact, if needing a win on points i think i might just gamble on a Jack Johnson to do the trick.

When thinking pre Ali, i think that with all things considered, i would possibly go with Liston. He is the most modern, and is capable of winning on points or by KO. he wont be totally outclassed physically and i dare say, might even have a bit of a psychological advantage.
