If 44 y.o. Maskaev tried to avenge every loss today, how would it end? vs Sanders - Wpts vs Tua - LKO 5-6 vs McCall - LKO 3-4 vs Whitaker - LKO 3-4 vs Kirk Johnson - LKO mid rds vs Peter - LKO 3-4 vs Aguilera - LKO 1 once again. Sanders is the only fighter on that list he can beat now.
Peter's probably well over 300 pounds at the moment. Same with Kirk Johnson.... And Tua. I'm seeing a pattern here... Is Maskaev like B-Hop when it comes to ruining fighters.... By raising their calorie intake and cholesterol levels? They never seem to be the same after going against "The Big O". If Maskaev survives the ring walks he could probably outlast the fatties on that list.
Did anyone else read the title and think, "Corrie Sanders? Isn't he dead?", and then realize it's COREY?
Gavern was gassed and didn't seem interested in upsetting the Russian Maskaev fans. Sanders carries that 350 lbs well, I remember watching him fght Timo Hoffmann on Eurosport a few years back, he was still a live dog in the 12th and stunned Timo a couple of times. I actually see it going similar to their 02' meeting, Mask controlling the "pace" :yep but being caught late and not recovering whilst being ahead.
Yeah I remember Jason doing a lot of showboating that day, basically just having fun in there and interacting with the crowd more than his opponent at times. Odd behavior, considering that he could've added the name of a former champ to his W column by KO if he just set about his business. A few years back? Dude, in four months it'll have been a decade. Tempus fugit. The fact that Barrera vs. Tapia (my two faves around then, so a major event) was around the same time gives me vertigo.. ld Maskaev should just schedule it to be 4 rounds to be safe. :yep
Hmm it is certainly one of the least relevant I would say that Curt Allan vs Butterbean is the least relevant one I can think of...15 yrs after the first:bbb
