    Round 5

Williams has now tied a string around his waist, telling his corner "THAT SHOULD DO IT NOW WE'LL SEE." Maskaev is clearly unnerved by this change in tac and comes out cautiously, moving back and to his left whilst holding out his left hesitantly. Williams bends down to pick up what he thinks is a penny, but is actually just lint, and laughs to cover his embarrassment, shaking his head and pointing at Maskaev as though it were his fault. Maskaev is enraged and charges, hitting Williams about the body and driving him to the long rope. "I SHOULD HAVE WENT TO SPECSAVERS HAHA" says Williams, apparently still embarrassed. "You could't see a..." Maskaev face goes blank as he tries to think of a suitable allegory, but can't "...if it was right in front of your face!" They both jab at each other and Williams clinches. He looks over to his corner and asks if they are sure they still have the hotel key, and why is it a card now anyway, I can never get them to work? Bell.

Maskaev is drilling Williams across the ring with right hands. Williams begins to lay on the ropes and sag into them, slipping punches. Maskaev readjusts his aim, finding Williams and repeatedly slamming him in the head with rights. Williams is slightly hurt, but not as much as the rabid crowd begins to imagine. Williams gets off the ropes and ties up. Jab and overhand right by Williams, very light. Arm punches. Williams is puffing hard. Jab, overhand, hook by Maskaev, missing all as Williams simply lets his upper body muscles relax and sway like a reed in the wind...accidental slickness.

    10-9 Maskaev

    50-45 Maskaev

They could have settled this with a game of dominos in their retirement home.

Williams has been landing some hard rabbit punches in the clinches, but not much else.

Maskev and Williams are noticeably better than anyone that Deontay Wilder has ever fought inside of a professional ring

Wait, did someone actually propose Wilder vs. Maskaev as being realistic?

Mike this very instant would climb in there and knock them both out in twenty seconds flat.

Maskaev was considered as a possible opponent for Wilder. He fought Firtha instead

Williams refuses to come out for the next round until the bird is rescued. Maskaev throws his gumshield at it, falling short by around fifty feet and his cornerman berates him loudly. Maskaev warns him not to talk to him like that, he once killed a Chechen with a sharpened toothbrush. His cornerman reminds him that this was fifteen years ago and Maskaev now struggles to tie his own shoelaces due to back spasms. Maskaev looks very sad. Two men wrestle Williams down from the ladder he is attempting to climb.

Maskaev would be too much a step up for Wilder right now

    Round 6

Maskaev is jabbing in on Williams. Wild hook by Williams, cuffing. Clinch. They shove at each other. Time out. Maskaev is hurt by a low blow? Williams stands in a neutral corner awkwardly like a scolded child, putting his gloves on his waist and then down at his sides, fidgeting. Time in. Big sweeping body combo by Williams leaning over, easily dodged by Maskaev simply back-stepping. Jab by Williams. Maskaev circles into the ropes and takes a sharp left turn. Overhand right by Maskaev, leading to a clinch as Williams drops underneath and gores him with the left shoulder in the belly. Williams is walking forward, bobbing and weaving despite Maskaev throwing nothing. A few jabs by Maskaev when far enough away to have no prayer of landing. Williams jumps in and hooks the body.

    10-9 Williams

    59-55 Maskaev
