Mismatch. Morrison within 2. Speed would be the differance. Tommy was a fast starter with VERY fast hands, and a booming left hook. Oleg is a slow starter, with slow hands, a **** poor defense, and a questionable chin. The Duke woulda had Oleg out cold before he even had a chance to warm up.
I think you're a bit too harsh on Maskaev, but I do agree that Morrison would win. He's quicker than Maskaev, both with his hands and with his starting tempo, and that's very dangerous for Oleg. If Maskaev can ride out the early attack then his chances improve with each round, but I'm not convinced he makes it.
Morrison would stop Maskaev in the first. maskaev doesn't have the fluidity or handspeed. Good matchup though :good
Morrison would blast Maskaev out early. Both have questionable punch resistance, but Morrison could take a shot much better than Maskaev. A bit like comparing Frank Bruno with David Haye in this respect.
Morrison's chin is underrated. He went 12 with Big George without going down. I think he'd take Maskaev out somewhat early.
morrison early, he had much more agility and his weakness was stamina which maskaev would not last long enough to exploit
I think Maskeav was a better fighter in his mid 30's, because he greatly improved his form and defense. Morrison would have a speed edge for sure, but his defense, stamina to me were inferior to Maskeav's. Neither guy took a good punch, but I think Maskeav shook off stinging blows a bit better. Do you go with the guy with better defense, or better speed? I'll side with Maskeav in his second career, but it could go either way.
