It's an ok fight,they actually released Hawkins from prision for this fight after Maskaev tried in vain to get a fight with some people on the street
I guess all Maskaev is doing is trying to get a good little paycheck still. He should just hang up the gloves already. He's not going anywhere.
I heard its the first fight ever in the venue (or certainly the first fight in a long time in that area) so i think Oleg wants an opponent that he knows he can beat. It's one of those fights thats an occasion so the home fighter winning is much more important than a competitive and meaningful fight.
That's the way I saw it, too. Given those circumstances and the fact that Oleg is coming off a KO loss, it's not that bad a fight.
