In my opinion, Ike would knock Usyk out. Usyk is good, skilled guy with his pit pat style.... but that wouldn't beat Ike´s virility, strenght, power, workrate, and also skills.... That Usyk last fight with the british guy that I forgot the name, the black guy, made me very suspicious of Usyk's toughness.... yeah. Beating Joshua, who I never rated high at all, does little to me...
In my opinion Ike is a stiffer, less skilled version of AJ and he'd have a job laying anything clean on Usyk given that he was not particularly fast.
i can't see any meaningful comparison between aj and ike. i think usyk boxes him up, but he aint winning 5 of 5.
Ibeabuchi had a bad career but it was more about his out of the ring troubles... he was a bad guy when he was on. I would, I guess, rate Joshua higher in my ranking.... but Ibeabuchi was a better fighter, to me.
Dubois lost to Joe Joyce, who is, with all due respect, one of the worst fighters I've seen in my life (at that level). I can't remember watching this fight tbh, just know the result.... even so, that looks very bad.
joshua's had a career of extremes. winning your home olympics means about 10% of actually winning the olympic gold. then he was the golden boy to the public. but that doesn't mean he didn't work hard and wasn't good. then he has a well managed run to the title, did his job every time. then the klit fight was so good, kd's both ways, can't **** on that win. then a fat short dude knocks him out. the same as there was too much praise early in his career, then there was too much negativity. since then he has fought scared and is not living up to what he should be. ike got sidetracked before he reached the level he should have. 2 massive question marks, for very different reasons.
Okay, I gotta say that I forgot his win over Wlad, which I should rate high, considering the way he won, and Wlad was past of his prime of course but he wasn't shot to pieces.... The loss to Andy Ruiz is bad though.. I am not able to rate Joshua too much.... I think Ike´s win over Byrd is a prime example of a thing Joshua could not do, at least not in that fashion....
in england he'd win the decision over byrd whatever actually happened. it's a winnable fight for him but i agree with you it aint happening like that. i don't mind a hw getting ko'd, especilly by a dangerous guy like ruiz. the shitshow of the second fight was the begining of the end for aj's career. i can't say they trained him wrong for that fight but i'll happily say they trained him lame for the rest of his career.
Just watch them fight. Ibeabuchi is essentially a plodder. He has no great foot movement, he comes straight forward and throws weighty but not speedy punches. Tua looks faster. Sure, Ike does what he does well, but guys like him are grist to Usyk's mill: This content is protected Joshua is more fluid than Ike, his feet are lighter and he fights more technically. You can see he tries to combine his offense and defence and doesn't just plod forward like an 1800s battleship looking to exchange salvoes. He's much faster than Ike: This content is protected To wrap this up I'd point out that Usyk is actually taller than Ibeabuchi and will be able to play his range games and feet games a lot more easily against him than Joshua who despite being 6'6 was an underrated technician.
I think Ibeabuchi is a more dangerous fight for Usyk than Joshua was simply due to the mentality of both fighters. Yes Ibeabuchi was off his rocker but he isn't going to be gun shy like Joshua was, Ibeabuchi has an iron chin, great workrate, and he'll be putting alot of pressure on Usyk. Ibeabuchi caught up to Byrd who was a hard fighter to catch clean, i think Ibeabuchi would be able to hit Usyk at some point and it's down to how Usyk reacts to the pressure. Chisora was able to make Usyk uncomfortable at times with his pressure and won his fair share of rounds, i would think Ibeabuchi would be able to atleast do better than Chisora remember Ibeabuchi isn't going to gas himself out like Chisora did. The way to beat Usyk is putting pressure on him Breidis gave him a close fight, Chisora gave him a rough night, at times Joshua did well in the 2nd fight but wasn't aggressive enough.
Ike Ibeabuchi remains a mystery. He don’t know how good he actually was, despite excellent wins over Tua and Byrd. I find it hard to gauge how he would do in these hypothetical fights. From what I’ve seen he certainly would have a chance against Usyk, or any of these active guys.
Usyk has been hit before, more than a few times.... he is not a tough guy. To be great at his style, it is my belief that you need to be tough, otherwise pressure and strenght will be a easy blueprint to beat you, there are many examples of that... In Boxing and especially HW boxing pitty pat boxing only gets you so far, until you face the wrong guy. This WILL happen with Usyk someday... (in the pros, I don't care about the amateurs)
