Did you ever see Ike on ***** street like AJ has been in nearly all of his competitive fights? Guess why, it's because he tucks his chin, gets his hands up and rolls with the punches. Where as AJ goes in leaving his chin out, high up in the air presumably because he wants to dry it off by leaving maximum expose to wind or punches ofcourse.
Don't confuse Ike having a much better chin with him having a better defence. AJ is much harder to land clean on.
I think Usyk wins because of his straighter punches and movement, but don't underestimate a fighter with similar cardio output to trap a skilled operator and make the fight very close. Look at Mayweather v Maidana/Castillo and even Jesus Chavez gave him a hard workout.
Agreed, but I don't think Ike has the skills to work his way in and stay there. Usyk is much better inside than many assume and he would not have it all his own way, and he is a master at controlling distance with his hands and feet.
LOL @AJ not being easy to land clean on. Follow another sport bro. Ruiz put him in another universe because he led with his chin in the air, Wlad should of stopped him, Whyte as bad as he was had him ready to go, Old Povetkin hurt him early. And Debois beat him pillar from post Anyone want an Ibeabuchi vs Debois poll?
I mean we both agree Usyk probably wins. But I think Ike is underrated. He was knocking on the door of a title shot, when he got convicted for crimes he commited while having mental health issues. He potentially could of beat Lennox or Holyfield in that period. We essentially don't know how good he could have been
Ruiz, Wlad, Povetkin and arguably Dubois are all much faster than Ike and much better boxers. Ike is the definition of a tankbrain. A slow one.
You know, it's funny you should say this. I was reading this month's edition of Modern Sperm and Ike was on the cover (again). Usyk's never even been on the cover.
