Yes he probably would be favoured against Joshua, but I doubt Bowe would actually find out for himself though. Considering he ducked all the notable punchers of 90s, and strong competition in general outside of the smaller Holyfield.
This might go over your head, but the “amateur” bout was fought between two full grown adults under pro rules in the not distant past.
It didn't. WSB limits their fights to 5 rnds, and your 3rd post I quoted directly referenced the ams.
I really can't say how it will go, but I know for a fact Bowe is going to give his soul to this fight. That man had heart.
The 1992 version of Bowe…the long range, short range, pressure fighting, hard punching, relentless pugilist with a good chin, wins on points. The 1996 version of Bowe, the slower, out of shape, ponderous fighter gets a real doing and lose a UD.
They forgot to wave their magic wand and call it pro, although it had normal length rounds, normal gloves, and no headgear. Perhaps you should focus on Bowe’s experiences with southpaws.
But only 5 rounds, thus having no real carryover to pro performance. Also I wasn't really weighing in on the matchup just this silly notion thats going around recently the ams prove anything about pro performance. Just so happens to be related to the rise of east european fighters who spend way too long in the ams and need more ammo to beef up resumes to preemptively turn them into legends before their careers are up.
Would you like to have a grown adult version of Joe Joyce go for your head over five rounds with no headgear? You could tell him how silly it is from your hospital bed.
Where not talking about bums like me being beaten, where talking about the applicability of amateur boxing to pro boxing in the world class levels of the sport which is still not very much. And the notion that it is enough to that you could use it as evidence for anything pro is still silly, my deletion or not.
It’s semantics. Margarito beat Martinez when both were young pros with limited am experience. Usyk beat Joyce in a five round pro rules fight after both had medals. The latter has much more relevance.
5 vs 12/15 rnds and the pressure of a pro career is not semantics, and neither are relevant to the pros. With any other category of fighter we would hardly bring up their am career at all especially apropos another pro, but suddenly how you deal with very green versions of fighters in a non pro 4 round bout is super relevent against established legedns over 12/15 rnds.
