Oleksander Usyk vs the Rock from Brocton

Cockell - no, LaStarza - on similar level, maybe a bit worse. Moore? Clearly better fighter than anyone Usyk faced so far. Archie was old but he was still really good. I always felt than Moore was at his best in 1951-54 period and he wasn't that much worse against Marciano.

I wouldn't favor any Usyk opponent over Archie Moore.

 

I'd favour at least 3. Gassiev, Breidis and Glowacki. Maybe Hunter as well.

 

That's your opinion, in the end we'll never know. It's far from consensus though and Marciano beat a lot of good fighters. I wouldn't say that Usyk has clearly better resume.

 

That's fair enough, and if we're talking about the opponents greatness then no, Usyk does not.
But H2H I'd say Walcott is number 1 between the 2 then Briedis, Gassiev, Hunter and Glowacki.

 

I tend to agree with this. I rate Usyk's skills very highly and if it was just down to that I'd have no problems in saying he'd decision Marciano. But I want to see the rest of his repertoire before I say that. Things like stamina, heart, grit and chin are just as important, and I don't think he's been really tested yet.

 

Again, we look at this differently as I'd have Charles from the first Marciano fight clearly higher than all of them, maybe even over Walcott. I'm huge Moore fan, so maybe I overrate him a bit but I'd pick him as a favorite over all of them to be honest.

 

Usyk certainly has the tools to give Marciano his hardest fight , maybe even beat him ?
It's hard to say at this point in time with OU , but if they were Fighting tomorrow , I'd def have some money on him .

 

Usyk is too slick for him imo, he'd jab him till he bleeds and flick lefts as him as Rocky would be walking forward. Rocky's pressure would definitely catch up to Usyk and he'd drastically slow down by the 12th, but imo he'd win enough rounds early on to nick a 12 round UD
He'd get stopped over 15 tho.

That fight isn´t as bad as the usual Rockista stuff. Rocky would keep Usyk on the run for a little, but I think the high skilled mobile boxer punch accumulation would take its toll.

How often was Marciano tested against 6'3" 200lbs southpaws who could move as well as Usyk?
How often was he even tested against a southpaw?
