Very good debut performance from Usyk. In the first 2 rounds he outboxed Romero from the outside showing great counterpunching. In the 3rd round he started standing his ground more and rather than pulling out of range to make him miss Usyk would stay in the pocket slipping punches then firing back with his own shots. He dropped Romero at the end of the 3rd with a beautiful left to the liver Jirov style. Similar 4th throwing combinations and letting his hands go a little more. In the 5th he gets Romero on the ropes landing a left cross to the head dropping him, doesn't look like he's beating the count and his corner comes into the ring to stop it for the 5th round TKO victory.
Just wish I knew Romero better so I knew what to think of his performance. Did anything in particular happen in round four?
I loved Usyk's boxing at the Olympics. He has great skills and is one exciting prospect. I want to see the full fight and I am going to wait for it to appear on youtube, but until then here's the knockout: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xm4_F1r3J0Q
