Salamov and Monaghan are out obviously, who will Gvozdyk face on 08/19?

There's a very brief bit of footage of the stoppage from Gvozdyk's third fight (against Lamont Williams) in this new Gvozdyk HL video. That is one of a handful of Gvozdyk pro fights I thought hadn't been filmed. Evidently not.

    I've time-stamped it

I'd certainly pick him to beat the current version of Kovalev.

Hmm I dont think anyone can write off Kovalev yet, although is stamina problems were there for all too see, hes still imo a top fighter in the LHW division and hes 1-1 with Ward. And hes still very dangerous.

You haven't been Gvoz-dyked yet, Lep? WTF?

He's very good. The complete package. Shares a couple of common opponents with Kovalev.

Gvozd is very good, tall with a reach, throws combos, deadly at mid and long range.
He's also younger than both Ward and Kov.

I agree, Kovalev shouldn't be written off, it's just I rate Gvozdyk that highly.

He's bigger than Kovalev, hits every bit as hard, has comparable skills and better footwork, and is younger too.

A year or so ago Kovalev actually said if there is anybody out there to beat him.. it's Gvozdyk.

Gvodzdyk is the real deal, skills for days. He beats any version of Kovalev imo.

I think Kovalev has been declining for whatever reason for a couple of years now. I've been saying that I much preferred the pre B-Hop version of him for a few years too. Mentioned it on here a few times.

    July, 2016

The Kovalev that blew threw Thompson, Campillo, Cleverly, and White was definitely more formidable and difficult to deal with, IMO.

He got low blowed by Ward in their second fight multiple times, and got robbed in their first, I dont understand why people are writing him off already :(

I'm not writing him off at all I just haven't been as impressed by him as much as I was the pre B-Hop version. He's still a top fighter but the one that blitzed Thompson, Campillo, Cleverly, and White was just a better fighter, IMO. Like I said, I've been saying this for a couple of years.

And at worst he's 1-1 against Ward, IMO.

    He sounds a monster

Wonder who'd win a round robin tournament with Beterbiev as the third beast
