    Did the Nail get hammered before making this awful decision? Seriously, this guy's regular IQ must be a good hundred points below his ring IQ. Pointless and potentially disastrous move.

    If he loses to Stevenson, a guy he's supposed to knock spark out cleanly, the blame will be placed squarely (and rightfully) upon this baffling willful downgrade. We all gonna be like:

    Atlas was never a good coach to begin with, and has worked how many important fights in this millennium? Two? (In fights that Povetkin and Bradley would have won just as easily without the "We are firemen!" and "do you believe in magic?!" nonsense, which Sasha probably didn't even understand, and very doubtful Timbo did either...)

    Compare with Contreras, who is a perfectly fine trainer. "Great", even, if you ask Roberto Garcia. :sisi1

    Idiot. I really like him too, he and Bivol are clearly the two best current champs at 175. Well, he realled ****ed us.

    He's going to lose, huh? Gvozdyk was literally all wrong for Stevenson but somehow Atlas is going to **** it all up! :mad:

    The kids been great as is already, why change a good thing and go to a new trainer known for his mouth and who isnt highly regarded at all as a trainer? Thats stone cold ******ed. As wrong as he is for Stevenson, hes still wide open for Stevenson's money maker, and Stevenson still has power.

    Gvozdyk like SOG and Maravilla is smart enough that he probably doesn't need someone to tell him what to do, his ring IQ is advanced enough that he can figure what to do on his own, but what he does lack is emotional IQ, he needs a drill instructor/motivational speaker to bark orders at him and and give him fiery speeches of encouragement to light a fire under his ass and get his confidence up, so oddly enough, this may end up being an inspired pairing.

    And let's look at this situation from another point of view. There are currently about 20 boxers in Egis Klimas' gym and, as far as I understand, Marco Contreras is the only trainer there (maybe there are some "apprentices" who help him but that's a little bit different). How much time and attention is he able to devote to Gvozdyk?
    Also the aspect that @CST80 just mentioned. It seems like Marco is a quiet guy, and so is Gvozdyk. Maybe, energy wise, their cooperation was not perfect.

    I'm on IB's side with this one. He very well might slap the pimp anyway and end that chapter in lhw history, certainly because the fight is too close for Atlas to have any real influence. But I can't see how this somehow is a smart move.
    @CST80 's take sounds plausable, but then again Povetkin could think for himself as well, but he clearly took a hit technically when training under Atlas.

    Gvozdyk's dreamy blue eyes might turn Teddy gay. Gvozdyk's good looks have turned many a straight man gay and many a gay man gayer. But I find the thought of a gay Teddy Atlas roaming this earth rather disturbing so I'm not best pleased about this.

    I actually believe this is a good move for Gvodsyk. He has a hell of a lot of ability and there are not many coaches who can improve him technically. I feel a motivator like Atlas could be good for him. To me Gvodsyk sometimes has lapses in concentration and doesn't go through the gears when he should. I think an Atlas may bring something out in him, we will see.

    :lol: I'm not too sure about that. Gay Teddy would be a predatory gay and he looks like an orc that's had a stroke (ie. he's no Gvozdyk) so he might encounter a lot of difficulty finding willing man hole and his gay lust might turn to gay rage due to him not getting any. And none of us members of the male of the species would be safe in the event of that lol

    Atlas would probably need a gimp mask for even a low standards queen to be into him.

    And the annoying ****er would probably still provide a running commentary, throwing around strange roundabout metaphors, except relating them somehow to being a man and taking it up the ass like one instead of boxing. Except it would be muffled and garbled. On account of the gimp mask.
