Finally, the WBC tries installing a mandatory that will actually step up to the plate and not accept a continuous stream of step aside money. I don't blame Alvarez for what he's doing, it's a short career and he's getting paid well to maintain his mandatory position and effectively act as Stevenson's personal gatekeeper, that's his prerogative I suppose. But it does show a disappointing lack of ambition from him and also enables Adonis to continue his **** poor reign as champion.

Gvozdyk besting the likes of Jack/Adonis/Alvarez is the best possible outcome for the division if it leads to unification fights with the three Russians.

Kovalev, Gvozdyk, Bivol, Beterbiev......... NATO about to officially declare LHW a designated war zone........ There's about to be some breath taking and earth rattling KO's in the next few years in this weight class. Kovalev, Gvozdyk, and Bivol are pretty much the prototypical snipers in modern day boxing and Beterbiev is like a friggin' one man artillery battery. These KO's are gonna be so brutal I HIGHLY doubt ESPN or any media outlets will even show the highlights/KO's on TV. These KO's have "automatically censored" written all over them.

Gvozdyk will get rid of Alvarez in 5 rounds. Too much power and accuracy.

It's weird, there's no doubt in my mind Gvozdyk would put his mitts all over Kovalev and beat his ass. I like all four of the soviet bloc guys, but man, the way Gvozdyk overextends which lets shorter guys get in perfect range to put one on him, I see some big migraines en route for him if he ever fights Bivol or Beterbiev. Hope I'm wrong, but I'm just as sure he gets wrecked by them as he wrecks Kovalev.

Yeah, Gvozdyk is very uncomfortable fighting at close ranges... A good thing is, I hope, that he has some good Mexican trainers around him (they are supposed to be experts in this kind of battles) so they'll give him some good advises and he improves.

Agree. Height and length are two huge advantages if you have the feet, ring IQ, mastery of range, and awareness to put them to best use. If not, and youre taller than most guys in your division a lot of problems are on the way. With Kovalev and Bivol though, they both like to stay at range as opposed to getting on the inside and fighting there. I dont think Bivol is anything clise to a good inside fighter but hes more rounded than the other two and better in that area than the other two so could conceivably have success on the inside against Gvozdyk. For Kov to be effective and have power he needs to stay at range and the only LHW that could probably or potentially out snipe him is Gvozdyk, dont see Kov trying to go inside on him i think he tries to snipe with potentially THE sniper of the division and ultimately lose. Whatever happens, KEEP GVOZDYK THE **** AWAY FROM BETERBIEV. I cant even put into words how badly i think that turns out for Gvozdyk.

Beterbiev is the worst possible match up for Gvodzyk and if they are trying to get that Feb 16th date for Alvarez I would not hold my breath.
