Oleksandr Khyzhniak would beat Edgar Berlanga in his pro debut - yes or no?

He’s a beast

but he needs to jump into pro ranks immediately as he’s getting oldee

 

My only concern is that with his style he's liable to walk into a big shot and Berlanga could lay a lucky grenade on him. I'd favor Khyzhniak most nights, though.

 

I don't think his style is well suited for pro ranks honestly. Well, style itself migh be but not the tempo. No fighter in history would be able to fight this tempo for 10-12 rounds. Humans bodies aren't created with hearts and lungs needed for that. And Khyzhniak is fighting this tempo for like last 8 or so years, so one might question his ability to regroup and slow down. And even if he does it, will he be that effective not throwing 100+ punches in every single round? We don't know. Yet.

But as for your question, yes, he beats Berlanga right now. Knocks him out. Arlen Lopez would also beat him easily, as well as Oralbay and Pinalles. Berlanga is beyond awful. The stiffest and least skilled world title challenger in long, long time. Super middleweight version of Simon Keane

 

Berlanga is crap, but you know what usually happens when you put amateurs standouts against seasoned pros in the early stages of their pro career. Anyways Khyzhniak should be rushed quick if he decides to go pro, he is already 28 and has a ton of amateur experience.

 

that surprise KO loss in 2021 was an incredible moment, but from a pro boxing perspecitve, all it led to was another wasted 4 years in the amateurs for Khyzniak while he went for the gold medal again. by the time they get real opponents in front of him he’ll be into his 30s
