agreed, problem is provolone didn’t make it clear before the fight where he was going to call low blows - he omitted that for some odd reason.

the point I’m making is if it’s on the belt line
How can he call it low especially if he didn’t define what he would consider low.

How can he call it low in such quick action?
If it were a clear & obvious nutt shot it’s explainable - but this was on the belt line
In real-time looked like a legit body shot.
Upon further review / super slow mo it’s on the belt line splitting hairs.

    boxing needs official instant replay.

The first thing out of Dubois in the post fight interview was that he was robbed out of a win, but where is the responsibility of finishing the job. He couldn't end Usyk after that recovery although he looked shaky. You gotta take that opportunity and use it to become a real champ. When the going got tough, he checked out instead of persevering. If he thinks a power jab is tough to get up from, what about the old school fighters that kept getting up over 15 rounds from monster shots?

Fully agree on both of your points.

Dubois is naturally flawed. He's pretty much prime age and doesn't have what it takes at elite level. He's been exposed now, he doesn't know how, or doesn't have the confidence to capitalise in a fight at world level, and he definitely is something of a quitter....no two ways about it for me

Usyk, as much as I'm a huge fan of his, is certainly in some decline now. He's still a great fighter of course. I'm just not sure now how long he can go on.

Be that as it may Usyk caught a major Break today.
Tyson Fury will be able to land on the body from long range with no real fear of being countered…. Too bad Fury doesn’t want the smoke.

You are aware it's natural that he's a bit slower when in heavyweight compared to cruiserweight, right? Because of all that extra weight he carries as a heavyweight.

We usually agree David, but I must take issue with TWO your points.

You state that "...Dubois landed a clean and powerful shot to Usyk’s navel/bladder."

The bladder is well below the waist, so by definition, any bladder shot is a low blow.

Regarding the 'short' count , It could have gone either way...He was right on the margin.
The ref could have let it continue or he could have ( and did) stopped it.

Dubois had no fight left in him...he was done, and he didn't object much.

I agree with you ( as does Usyk) that the ref should not have pressed the issue of taking the full five minutes.

Yes that's part of it. As I've been saying fr ages anything above 210 is detrimental to his speed and fluidity. But he's clearly not as sharp now as he was even just 2 years ago

I don't think the ref fully saw that shot. It was kind of hard to determine with even various replays. He gave Usyk the benefit of the doubt when he saw him rolling around. If he counted him out at that point good luck walking out alive lol with all those Ukrainian and maybe some Polish fanatics. The commission should review it though to be fair.
