I have always really struggled to watch most heavyweight fights. Usually very slow and cumbersome. I grew up in the Wlad era of jab and grabbing, often of midgets. Sadly, not too much has changed in most fights. Last night was a breath of fresh air both sharp on their toes going for it, trading shots. Usyk is special but he was hurt, to the body or bollocks… only he knows. Enjoyed it.

 

Yeah Usyk the cheating bellend pushed his shorts down like he knew what he was doing.

Usyk did outclass Dubios but if he’s lying about the naval what else is he lying about? Someone that’s prepared to cheat will cheat. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s popped soon either

I was pondering this event and how it made any money. Cheap tickets, unlikely to do big PPV buys, lots of promoters, sanctioning bodies, Buffer, singers and other hangers-on taking their cuts - even before the 20 undercard fighters get paid. There's a part of me that thinks the sanctioning bodies should be more like UFC and run their own events where a mandatory is concerned.

Maybe the whole thing was a Ukrainian feel-good event and you can't knock that idea - and maybe it was run at a loss to give something back. Still, you'd hope there wouldn't be too many corners cut along the way.

 

It is not , it is an excellent point. We are consumers of others' BIG business , big monies circulating in and out of hands of rich , and of course , political and social influences ; Zelensky speech before commencement of first bell or ring walk (forget).

Usyk showed his true face to be cheater. And now Fury is watching and saliva is everywhere for blood.

Look I’m not denying that legally it could have been classed as a low blow, but unless his balls are inline with his obliques it wasn’t low… He took close to 4 minutes to recover from the shot too.

If the referee started counting like he should have he may have got up, but that didn’t happen. That one moment could have changed the whole trajectory of the fight, Dubios would have grown in confidence and could have attacked an hurt Usyk.

My opinion is Usyk is a cheat but if they fought again I’d favour Usyk to stop Dubios because Dubios already quit.

We’ll never know how this would have played out if the ref did his job and counted so they’ll always be a question mark over this win for Usyk

 

It doesn't have to hit the balls to be a low-blow. That's a common misconception. Joshua landed a similar shot that Dubois landed which was called a low-blow and no-one complained.

 

So during the fight apparently every time somebody took a picture Usyk pushed his shorts down?
