Today was supposed to be the deadline before purse bids. The fight was ordered July 24th by the WBO, giving both parties thirty days to reach a deal. Today is day #30. Usyk requested - but wasn't granted - an injury extension. Time's up.

Parker has been the WBO mandatory for a long time.

It's been over 5½ years since this match was originally supposed to happen.

Usyk's coach already dispelled the idea of him facing the unproven Itauma, regardless of what Turki wants.

Nobody wants Fury or Joshua or Dubois again.

It has to be Parker - or, if anybody else, Kabayel. (preferably followed immediately by Parker)

JUST GET IT DONE ALREADY! :cursing2:

Parker gets his ass kicked. Won't be remotely competitive.

    But he still deserves it.

Kabayal will get his ass kicked too, but he's the second most deserving. Usyk fighting anyone besides either of them is a disappointment. A real challenge doesn't exist right now for him.

Turki decides who's next. He has stated he is not interested in Usyk vs Parker, so I reckon it will be either Itauma or Fury 3 instead.

Maybe. But I also think Usyk has earned the right to do whatever the **** he wants for a fight now(in a fair world)

Name someone who wouldn't get their ass kicked?
Usyk is the best in the world, and I want to see him face as many different challengers as possible. I want to see Usyk dominate, I want to see him face different challenges, I want to see surprise performances.

I will never understand boxing fans like you, who seemingly dont want to see the best fighting the best.

:dunno Who would have a competitive fight with Usyk? Besides another rematch with Fury or whomever.

That's probably the most competitive fight in the division currently for him based on track record. My point is Usyk has beaten all of the best challengers and I don't think he should be browbeaten by sanctioning bodies to fight anyone in particular. As long as it's a highly rated challenger whatever. As far as opponents he hasn't fought already? Kabayel and Hrgovic are just as deserving as Parker is.

I gave the like, but disagree with Hrgovic. Its crazy to say that he is as deserving given his resume.

Fury wasn't competitive...won like 5 rounds over two fights.

Hrgovic is a fair world is undefeated still. With wins over Zhang(first to do so), Joyce and lets not pretend he wasn't better than Dubois before the headclashes took him out of the fight. Parkers recent resume really isn't that much better. Shot Wilder who went on to get brutally KO'd by Zhang, Zhang who Hrgovic also beat and a short notice Bakole who showed up totally out of shape even by his own standards. If anything I'd argue Kabayel is more deserving than either by a slight margin because he actually stopped Zhang, but all 3 would be fair and fresh challengers for the belt.

Nah. That's hyperbolic. Vast majority of boxing fans had those as competitive fights. Usyk closed both out in the later rounds but Fury won at least 4 rounds in both.

Funny how you make so many excuses for Hrgovic, and then completely annihilate Parker. At least hold them both to the same standard.

I'm trying to highlight to you how in terms of merit there really isn't much separating him from Parker as far as deserving a title shot is concerned.
