A clear pattern emerging here. Gassiev looking to load up and catch Uysk with one or two big shots, while Uysk is happy to use good movement and fire with straight combinatons. He's throwing two or 3 shots for every one that gets thrown back. We might see a big swing in momentum later in the fight depending on energy levels, but for now Uysk looks very comfortable, not quite as effective as some might think though.

Round 5

Usyk is getting off with combos and then yanking himself back, covering up, and setting his toes and the ball of each foot already vaulting off rightward to vanish from the spot before Gassiev can find him with counters. Gassiev nearly traps him on the ropes early but Usyk's quick feet carry him to safety while taking minimal damage, most of Gassiev's straight lunges picked off with either fist. Gassiev is pushing his right hand through and hoping for the best, drilling into the now empty space where Usyk had been standing just a heartbeat earlier. Usyk is doubling and tripling his right jab, darting in and out and moving laterally, never letting Gassiev find him with a clean shot.

Still yet to catch fire this fight. Reminds me a bit of Frampton vs Quigg in that Quigg seemed to sleepwalk to the halfway point totally unaware he was falling hopelessly behind on the scorecards.
