I thought he tried, but Usyk was just too quick with his feet and defensive reactions.

I'm not sure, but I think Usyk is left-handed. Let's look at this from another perspective: Usyk started boxing at 15, so he (unlike Lomachenko, who started boxing on the day he was born :D) just didn't have time for such "experiments".

    Fedor Chudinov vs. Nadjib Mohammedi

    Round 1 Chudinov 10-9, close
    Round 2 Mohammedi 10-9
    Round 3 Mohammedi 10-9
    Round 4 Mohammedi 10-9, close
    Round 5 Mohammedi 10-9
    Round 6 Chudinov 10-9, close
    Round 7 Mohammedi 10-9
    Round 8 Mohammedi 10-9
    Round 9 Mohammedi 10-9, close
    Round 10 Mohammedi 10-9
    Round 11 Mohammedi 10-9
    Round 12 Mohammedi 10-9

    Mohammedi 118-110

117-111, maybe 116-112 are fine as well.

Most of you guys that scored this fight on here were far too generous to Chudinov. I had a feeling this was going to happen, but since I haven't been on here as much, I didn't bring it up, but that was the reason I picked Chudinov by Close UD in the league, and came damn close to picking Nadjib like @Drew101, I didn't think for a second he could outbox Mohammedi, but I knew Mohammedi would never get the benefit of the doubt on the scorecards for precisely this reason.... Chudinov is the ultimate gives the appearance he's winning type of fighter, he's frantic as hell, always pressing forward and active, but lands very little clean, he reminds me of Hatton against Mayweather in most of his fights. Its the epitome of ineffective aggression. But sadly, many buy into this illusion that he conjures, a good example being that many of the posters on the Groves-Chudinov RBR had the fight close at the time of the stoppage, which is ridiculous, I gave Chud one round and I was hesitant about that. The fight in microcosm, Nadjib rolled with, rode with, slipped, parried almost everything Chudinov threw, sometimes with his entire body and pitty patted the living **** out of Chudinov, landing almost everything. It wasn't even competitive IMO, it was almost Usyk-Gassiev level, but thankfully for Usyk, Gassiev doesn't even know how to give the impression he's doing anything to win, otherwise they may have jobbed Usyk. I knew there was no chance in hell that he'd get the win, based primarily on the fact that Chudinov looks like he's doing more than he actually is, and Nadjib's shots lack power and his uber evasive defensive skills don't get the credit they deserve. This was an abomination, but at least one judge got it right. There should be an immediate rematch.

Chud's record is sadly backward, that scumbag Sturm has an ridiculously illegitimate win over him, and Nadjib has a ridiculously illegitimate loss. Those two results should be flipped immediately.

@IntentionalButt I figured you might want to see this.

    Round 1 Usyk 10-9
    Round 2 Usyk 10-9
    Round 3 Usyk 10-9
    Round 4 Usyk 10-9
    Round 5 Usyk 10-9
    Round 6 Usyk 10-9
    Round 7 Usyk 10-9
    Round 8 Usyk 10-9
    Round 9 Usyk 10-9
    Round 10 Usyk 10-9
    Round 11 Usyk 10-9
    Round 12 Usyk 10-9

    Usyk 120-108

Utter domination from Usyk, he boxed circles, triangles, pentagons, octagons over Gassiev. A problem in Gassiev's game plan was that he was aiming for one shot, Gassiev had to punch the same time when Usyk was throwing his combinations in order to pin him against the ropes, but he just couldn't do it, he was completely neutralized by Usyk's speed and footwork.

With this win, Usyk is now definitely in the top 2 greatest cruiserweight fighters of all time along with Evander. :chuck:

Usual top notch boxing from Usyk.

One thing did strike me was the corners...in the Usyk corner total control & response to questions etc, in contrast to Sanchez. In the break of the 5th round & certainly the 6th Gassiev looked quite disconsolate with the way it was going, Sanchezes comments of "Look this what you wanted -right? Then get in there & work" really did not work for Gassiev , Its almost as though he was mentally fighting his corner ie not really having faith in what he was being told & then the brilliant Usyk confirming it to him in the centre of the ring ? Gassiev fought to the best of his ability but did come up short....but hey, I think we will realise in a few years that for a 24 yr old he did pretty good against a future great. I am disappointed with Sanchez & his tactics...not great.

    Just to add 2 things:
Will/Should Gassiev look for a new trainer...I'm guessing he will stay as GGG is there.
2 Has Usyk shown Canelo the Blueprint to beat GGG(?)
OK , just having fun ...what I mean by that is I doubt Canelo has the stamina to copy Usyk...he probably has the skills TBH.

Yes Dorticos was elevated to full champ with a deal that Lebedev gets a first crack at WBSS winner.
Usyk will probably vacate WBA belt, there's no money in that fight.

    1. Not really. It is a Gassiev problem. Not a Sanchez one. Also, Gassiev hasn't actually been boxing for that long.
    2. This wouldn't be as effective against Golovkin since he has more nuances to his style and Canelo simply can't do this anyway.
