October twelfth, if all goes to plan. Some but not all of the unified heavyweight straps will be on the line. Almost certainly not the IBF, as they're going to strip Usyk if he doesn't next defend against his mandatory Hrgović.

I don't see the outcome changing, and don't think the first match had any business being a split decision. It also could well have been a TKO9.

Usyk finishes what he started in Round 9.

Usyk is going to beat him again.

    :deal:

In the second half Fury had no answer for him other than spoiling and showboating. With the benefit of 48 minutes studying him up close, Usyk is going to dissect him like a high school science class sheep's heart next time.

I can't believe Fury (even knowing that, you know, it's Tyson Fury :sisi1) had the gall to claim he got robbed and blame the decision on the judges being sympathetic about the Ukrainian war. That was brazen and tacky even for him.

I like that Usyk was game though, happy to run it back to leave no doubt.

If Fury walks away for one reason or another, I wonder if Usyk would actually take the mandatory in that situation. It would be kind of funny if Dubois beat Hrgovic and became an Usyk mandatory again (which would hysterically illustrate the absurdity of the sport and the accompanying alphabet mess).

Usyk stops him in part two. Chin will be softened up even more from the ninth round onslaught and Usyk will be more prepared for Fury's uppercuts and digs to the body.

Well, that would be yet another opportunity for Usyk to erase any lingering who's-the-better-man doubt (where really none should exist) with all the controversy surrounding the low blow vs. knockdown debate.

He was very different and congratulatory toward Usyk before the announcer handed him the mic. He's just selling the rematch. Part of Fury is a character.

Usyk by a wide points margin. He’ll rock Fury again, but the ****er will survive it…and Usyk will outbox him even better in the 2nd fight now that he has been 12 rounds in the ring with him…

I can't see any reason why this fight happens. There's nothing more for Usyk to do now. His legacy is secure and he has plenty of money. I doubt he would do it for the paycheque and I doubt he feels the need to fight Fury again. It's not as though the result of the first fight is even questionable and whilst it may say SD anybody who knows anything about boxing will confirm that Usyk won the fight. History will judge it accordingly.

Bottom line is that Fury needs this fight from a legacy/status perspective. Usyk does not. He is a legend and will be regarded as one of the greatest fighters the world will ever see. On that basis I do not see a rematch happening and I genuinely think that Usyk will now walk away from the sport. He has nobody else to beat and he seems to be a guy who likes to be away from the spotlight. His post fight comments about missing family milestones over the last 8 months were quite telling. I think he is done.

Hypothetically speaking, should a rematch happen then I don't see any way that Fury can turn the tables. For everything Fury tried, Usyk had an answer. His ring IQ is just too much and I suspect he gets the KO second time around.

That happened just the other day in fact, there was a match in Germany between Karen Chukhadzhian and Harry Scarff, which was razor close, with Scarff controlling the majority of the rounds, and arguably doing enough to shade most of them, but neither man definitively pulled ahead of the other. I ended up having it a draw, but of course because it's in Germany, and Karen even though he's Ukrainian, has fought there on a few occasions. So they awarded him the victory via lopsided UD, oh yeah... it was an eliminator. Making Karen Chukhadzhian the mandatory for..... Jaron Ennis.

Fury’s best chance was in the first one, now Usyk has worked him out Fury will be lucky to win 2 rounds in the rematch.

Oh my goodness! Even if Fury goes off on an 18 month bender and Dubois beats Hrgovic, that would be the LAST fight I'd want to see Usyk involved in.

Usyk can hurt Fury more than Fury can hurt him.

Usyk can adjust better and has another gear.

    It's. Over.

    It's beautiful.
