"I think Usyk nicked that round, but..."

    Golly, these Brits. :shakehead:

After the sixth one of them (Carl something) said they didn't see how Usyk possibly could claw his way back into it. :trolldeltesoro:

Woodhall has Fury up by two at this point.

Where did you get those accuracy figures from?

The Compubox had it 41.8% to 31.7% Overall in favor of Usyk :

In Round 2, it was 57.7% to 32.5%. Total punches landed 15 to 13 in favor of Usyk.

Usyk had a significant % advantage, about 10% higher overall, but I don't know where you're getting that 52% to 18% figure from.

The total punches landed were 170 -157 in favor of Usyk. That's a good indicator of how close it actually was, the total punches landed were not that one-sided in favor of Usyk. Especially when you consider that Round 10 saw Usyk landing 12 more punches in that round, which nearly amounts for the entire difference in total punches landed. So if you remove Round 10 from the equation, Usyk only landed 1 more punch in the other 11 rounds.

According to Compubox, Fury outlanded Usyk in Round 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6. And it has Usyk outlanding Fury by only a single punch in round 7 and 11. Round 11 saw Usyk and Fury with an identical % landed in jabs and power punches, with Usyk a slight overall % advantage due to throwing and landing 1 more punch.

Overall, Compubox has Fury outjabbing Usyk 62-48, but Usyk outjabbing Fury to the body 29-6.

Meanwhile Usyk had a power punching advantage 122-95, while power punching body shots were nearly even 41-40 in favor of Usyk.

Total body shots landed were 70-46 in favor of Usyk.

    Round 9

Usyk is harrassing with the jab and Fury now diving in to clinch. Usyk waving a right hook up top, getting batted away. Fury drilling in with a straight right but Usyk catches most of it. Fury slips a few jabs against the ropes, and tries blocking with his right forearm when Usyk lowers the jab to aim for the chest, but Usyk tattooing around in different spots so that a couple land for every one blocked. Usyk peppering Fury across the ring from one set of ropes to another. Big left hand by Usyk belts Fury across the mandible. Fury tries some body shots reaching in and is hurt by a two-piece. Usyk pounces on him. Fury not recovered. Several punches connect. 11-12 unanswered from Usyk with Fury wobbling around the ring, finally held upright by the middle ropes and given a ten-count by Mark Nelson. Fury beats it and is saved by the bell.

    10-8 Usyk

    87-83 Usyk

Well you could use context clues to figure out that I'm watching the British broadcast of the fight, and that they showed that stat in an onscreen graphic after the second round.

So all of what you typed has nothing to do with what I posted. :sisi1 Those were the accuracy numbers in the first two rounds, at least as reported by Sky Spots.

    Round 10

Usyk is nailing Fury with the 1-2 and 1-2-3, keeping him in retreat. Fury avoiding the ropes and corners, trying a flicking jab off the hip. Usyk is tossing a couple of shots up top bringing the guard up and then ripping the now exopsed belly of Fury with a hook. Usyk gets Fury trapped in a corner but eases off, letting Fury jab his way out. Usyk drops his gloves by his knees, taunting a little perhaps, taking a breather. 1-2 downstairs by Usyk. Fury sits in a corner, back against the padded turnbuckle and underarms resting on the top rope, making a show of being able to slip Usyk's combos, but not daring do it for more than a second before dashing off toward open water. Fury just pawing out a jab, inching away, surviving. Big left by Usyk.

    10-9 Usyk

    97-92 Usyk

Top 50, absolutely. I don't think anybody in those lighter divisions is breaking the 3k barrier, though. Let alone 4 or 5.

Inoue vs. Nery didn't even hit a thousand.

Interesting. I did not watch the British telecast. According to the official Compubox figures, the totals after two rounds were :

    Fury 28.6%, Usyk 52.2%.

Your 52% to 18% was likely an error on the British telecast, as Usyk's % you reported after 2 rounds was identical to his Compubox % landed figure after 2 rounds, but Fury's was indeed 28.6% instead of your 18%.

In terms of the number of landed punches after two rounds : it was a mere one punch advantage in landed punches for Usyk 23-22. With Usyk being outjabbed by Fury 17-9 and Usyk with a power punching landed advantage of 14-5.

    Round 11

Usyk is following Fury around the ring, rapping him across the upper jaw with a right hook now and then. Usyk jabbing his way inside behind a high guard. Fury leaning back, wiping blood from his eyes, jabbing sporadically. Fury catches Usyk with an uppercut, prompting an appreciative grin but not a backward step. Usyk ducks the Fury one-two and is grabbed and pushed down upon.

10-9 Usyk, slow and ugly round but still no doubt about who won it.

    107-101 Usyk

"If he continues his success, Usyk, we could well see a draw here!"

This bias is crazy. I can't wait to hear their reaction in a few minutes...

(also how does a draw work, when there was a knockdown, unless they feel there was a clear 10-10 in there?)

    Round 12

Usyk is nagging with the jab and left hand reaching up and across. Fury sways out of the way of an Usyk right hook, then drills Usyk with a nice right hand. Usyk blocks some jabs and moves in to flurry but is grabbed low and their heads butt incidentally. Right hooks by Usyk now backing Fury into the ropes. Left hand for Usyk. Fury flicking jabs, then putting his hands behind his back playfully. Fury gives Usyk a forehead kiss.

    10-9 Usyk

    117-110 Usyk

Richie Woodhall does have it a draw, and indeed scored the 10th 10-10.

Same scorecard as you, IB. Fury winning 4 through 6 and looking like he was en route to a decisive victory before Usyk turned things around. Every other round, I preferred Usyk's work. Although I'm fine with people who had Fury edging a couple more rounds.

Awesome work! Just out of interest did watching it second time round tally with how you felt the fight was going watching it live?

I rewatched it a second time and saw it almost exactly how you did. However watching it live I thought it was much closer than it really was (felt like Usyk won by 1-2 rounds plus the KD but I was most likely influenced by the heavily pro fury commentary/crowd).
