Usyk is far more disciplined outside of the ring than Fury. So it's not at all a stretch to conclude that Usyk is closer to his prime, despite being a year and a half older.

That was the best Fury that has ever stepped into the ring, and this ain't my words, this is his own team words, prior to the fight.
His speed was there, his stamina was there, his punch resistance was there, his power was there, his reflexes was there, and he was in the best shape of his life.
Million times better shape than Wilder 2. But this ain't Wilder against him.

Usyk is 19 months older. And his whole style is based on attributes that decline with age first, aka speed, agility, reflexes, reaction time, cardio/energy, footwork, etc.

Usyk is also not a natural HW, and a really small one for today HW standard. He is million time past his best years, by at least 4-5 years.
His punch output and exhausting is showing this, as he was nowhere near as fresh as in his previous fight, and specifically AJ fights, as this was Usyk best fights at HW.

Going down from 700 to 400 punches thrown is an indicator of being heavily declined.

In Fury case he thrown 574 punches, in a extremely high pace fight, where he was pressured every second of every round, speaks he was in his absolutely best.

For example against Klitschko, Fury threw just 371 punches in a slow paced fight.
Against Wilder, Fury threw 327 punches.
Against Wilder 2 Fury throws 267 punches in 7 rounds, where Wilder was like a statues.
In Wilder 3, again not much of high pace fight, Fury threw 385 punches over 11 rounds.

Yeah this is the best Fury we have ever seen.

He was well prepared to fight against a tall opponent, but even then, with such a reach disadvantage he is going to miss some punches.

I know you are a Fury fan, and given one of the good ones to be fair, always respectful and so on, but how on the earth you can give Fury Round 1, which is the most clear round in the fight, beside Round 8,9, 10, and 11(you still give it to Fury, which s a clear Usyk round)?

So when exactly we start scoring rounds for someone showboating and eating power punches to the body all night, and then finish the round with hard left to the head ?
I really wanna see your reasoning of giving Fury Round 1 and, in that number Round 11 as well. Wont argue about any other round, but just this 2.

There is a decent argument to be made that if Usyk was 3 years younger that Fury gets shutout on the cards. Usyk still has all of his skill, will power and chin, but the athleticism and gas tank has trended downward sharply recently. Those 3 rounds that Fury won can be just as well attributed to Usyk taking a breather and his foot off the gas in preparation for the last half of the fight, rather than adjustments in strategy by Fury. The Usyk from the Gassiev fight would have been energizer bunny for the full 12 rounds. A younger Usyk simply wouldn't have even given Fury the opportunity to get in range and position to land those shots in the first place. As bad as this was for Fury, against a younger Usyk it would have been much worse for him.

As an Irish man I'm sorry to say this is the first I've known of Anthony Cacace. Do you have a thread on him? I'd like to watch his loss as I seen you mentioned it was a bit of a robbery?
