You're not wrong. Some of the fights on the undercard would likely have been main events if they'd have happened at all.

The thing I love about these cards is, once you make a name in Saudi you can keep coming back, but only for a decent fight or ideally a step up. Parker and Kabayel are in far better fights than they had been lately. Cordina might have skipped tonight's fight and waited or gone up in weight. Would Wilder be fighting Zhang anywhere else? Not a chance.

 

Cacace’s power is no joke, far better than his record suggests. As Groves mentioned in the commentary, he’s done some damage to people over the years in the gym.

Some of the uppercuts he was landing on Cordina was lethal.

Be interesting to hear what the issue was with Cordina, couldn’t quite make out what he said in between rounds… I’m guessing it was the right hand ? As he’s had problems in the past.

As for this fight, not really catching fire given the event it’s on and the reputations of both. Opetai is a cracking fighter on the up and Breidis was a proper force but is on the slide… styles haven’t really gelled.

 

My only criticism of Mr Turkey is that if he is paying fighters £100m to headline these cards, he could afford to make these cards free to air around the world.

 

Parker was fighting absolute bums. Wilder wouldn't be facing better opposition but it looks like he is past it. I'd rather see these better matches than have more crowd noise.

 

I thought ring walks were slated for 22:30? I’d be surprised if first bell is before midnight.

I went to Dubai during Ramadan and wasn't stopped from getting half cut on the flight - they were filling the glass every 5 minutes. Surely a few flights to Saudi could be timed to land at about 7pm on fight night?
