Who would win, both at 38 years old? Usyk from the Dubois fight and Lennox from the Klitschko fight. It seems that most on the forum think prime for prime Lennox wins, but I'm curious who wins at the time of both men's last fight as they happen to be the same age.
I'm not going to pick. Lewis was the natural heavyweight, and more comfortable and capable at that size than any other fighter in history...but I don't Usyk losing to McCall or Rahmen, either. I have Lewis at my number 3 heavy, maybe number 4, in history, but this Usyk guy is a pound for pound elite.
Lewis was at his highest recorded weight vs Vitali he wasn't in good shape. Usyk was in far better form vs Dubois. The Usyk of 2025 would have to be favoured over the 2003 version of Lewis who fought Vitali.
Usyk clearly wins this. Lewis got lucky vs Vitali with the cut and was being pieced up in the fight. He wisely retired and avoided the rematch.
The Lewis of the Tua fight, agile, powerful, accurate and strong has a real good chance of pipping Usyk to the post. The one that faced Vitali slower, not in great shape, I think you have to lean towards Usyk.
Lewis a great heavyweight but my goodness is he overrated. Usyk would've beaten him every day of week and twice on sunday
Not very confident in the heavy 2003 Lewis beating a still capable mover like Usyk, though he has much more of a chance than Joshua and Fury. If he referees are as biased as they were for the two Brits (ridiculous split decisions), Lennox might pulll it off.
The Usyk that KOed dubois beats the **** out of the lewis that fought and then ducked Vitali No doubt in my mind.
Struggling to think of a fighter in recent memory who has been thrust to GOAT status for knocking out a fighter he has already demolished. Usyk is terrific, but I think some people need to take their foot off the gas a bit and gain some perspective. There's nobody on Usyk's HW resume that makes me think he would comprehensively beat any version of Lewis. A 2025 Usyk has a clear advantage over a 2003 Lewis. Lewis was on the decline, but Vitali would give Usyk nightmares as well, and he would be the best name on Usyk's resume. We're comparing a Usyk that knocked out Dubois, who has a history of quitting, outboxed by Joyce, and has no ring IQ with a Lewis who fought a prime Vitali and took some pretty heavy shots off him while landing a few of his own. If we put the Lewis that KO'd Golota up against the Usyk that fought Chisora, I'd bet the house on Lewis. If we're doing prime for prime, then Lewis would be my pick, too. The depth of his HW resume is light years ahead of Usyk
The guy who knocked out Golota in 1 round, and outpointed Holyfield, and dangerous fighters like David Tua, is overrated, but the guy who has a HW resume where half of his wins are against Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois isn't?
Golota? lol Holyfield was past it by that point and Tua what did he ever win? Joshua and Dubois, who were in their prime, are better than those past it boxers. You are caving into nostalgia
It's easy to pick holes in any resume. Usyk fought a version of Fury that got dropped by a cage fighter and nearly lost on points. He also fought a complete shell of AJ, who has had PTSD since the Ruiz fight, and he couldn't put a dent in Chisora, who is a Euro-level gatekeeper. Usyk is a top 10 HW of all time easily, but to say he is the GOAT is ridiculous. Dubois has zero ring IQ at the elite level, Usyk proved it in the first fight and he proved it last weekend too, it does nothing for his legacy. Tua was a major contender in a much more competitive era, I'd have him taking out Joshua if they fought, he'd also beat Dubois IMO. This era is weak, and obviously that's not Usyk's fault, he's beaten everyone, but to proclaim he's the GOAT heavyweight with 8 HW fights, and 4 of them being Joshua and Dubois? Na, I'm not buying it.
