Chamberlain and Kongo recently spent time over in camp with Usyk. They both think he'll do well at HW and they also said that he weighed about 100kg six weeks before the Briedis fight.

    Two things about Usyk:

    1. He has said that he will fight at 100kg (220 lbs) as a heavyweight. That's also his walk-around weight.

    2. For people who want him to get more credit, he will get a ton of credit if he beats Gassiev:

    - Unbeaten
    - Lineal
    - Undisputed
    - Probably top-5 P4P

So if you're a fan of Usyk (and I've been on the bandwagon since 2015 or so), there's only one more win (if he wins) before things should get more interesting and he gets his due.

Of course, heavyweight is a whole different animal. So even if he beats Gassiev, success at heavyweight is not assured.

I can’t wait till he enters the heavyweight division

Given that he will be brand new to the division, what would be a good entry-level opponent for Usyk?

Given that he had such a good record at cruiser, I would think someone like big baby Miller would be a good entry-level point

Usyk Vs. Gassiev will be a war, shame on USTV for boycotting it!

Johnny Nelson says that he witnessed Usyk ''bossing'' Wlad in sparring and that Wlad slung him out after one round. Basically Wlad didn't yearn for that graft with him.

If Usyk could do that to Wlad (even retired) that bodes well for his future at HW.

I'll never understand why a guy who would be a force at heavyweight would spend so long at cruiserweight.

No wonder Johnny Nelson's always said that Usyk would beat the top heavyweights. I always felt him saying that was strange seeing the Sky UK employ him.

after seeing parker vs Joshua last weekend. I was 60/40 usyk could beat Joshua.. but now I think its 80/20 usyk beats him on legit scorecards anyway.. I am sure the uk would try to save Joshua from a loss and give him A sd.

A member of the SKY commentary team for Usyk vs Glowacki (I think it was Nelson) mentioned during the broadcast that they'd been impressed by Usyk when they saw him spar Wlad. That was a late 2015 Wlad and Usyk must've only been 8-0 at the time.

Usyk isnt beating Joshua on the scorecards. No way. The judges are just as crooked over there as they are in the states. Money talks, and this random cossack from the East is not going to get a fair treatment. If Usyk ever becomes the top dog at heavyweight, he should consider fighting in another country as his home base like Germany for instance, he wont be worried about getting robbed.

Whatever happens vs Gassiev, Usyk is going to have a long wait for a title fight vs Wilder or Joshua. Is going to have to get in a mando spot and sit it out. Exact same with Gassiev. Unlike when Haye stepped up to hw, these guys just dont offer the reward vs risk.
