Oleksandr Usyk Highlights http://search.myway.com/search/video.jhtml?searchfor=Usyk+highlights+boxing&n=&p2=&ptb=&qs=&si=&ss=sub&st=tab&trs=wtt&tpr=sbt&ts=1474311577494 Defensive highlights: http://search.myway.com/search/video.jhtml?searchfor=Usyk+highlights+boxing&n=&p2=&ptb=&qs=&si=&ss=sub&st=tab&trs=wtt&tpr=sbt&ts=1474311577494 At 6'3 with a 78" inch reach and what can be viewed as pound for pound skills, Usyk if he wants it can be a champion at heavyweight too. His frame can carry 215 easy, which is probably close to what he weights on fight night. His chin was excellent for those who wonder as he sparred and better super heavyweights in the amateurs. Essentially he's the same weight as Chagaev and Ibragimov were in the amateurs ( 91KG, heavyweight ), and IMO has better pure boxing skills than Povetkin. This guy's a real talent.
Thanks for sharing. Have heard about him but never seen him fight. Looks awkward as hell and his style would be hard to prepare for.
He was fighting like an idiot and quickly changed everything after that knock down. A focused Fury, because of his massive size and reach will bully Usyk
Yeah, he's tricky. Did I mention he's a mobile southpaw? Good on offense, or defense, with speed, durability, stamina and for his size good power. Usyk just beat the undefeated Glowacki in his home nation. Clear UD. Who is his Promoter? EDIT: just saw he is with K2. Wonder if we get to seem him in the States anytime soon?
Nice he launches that left hand like Haye used to do at that weight. If he moves up to heavy hopefully he will remember to bring his style with him unlike Haye.
Fury is seldom focused, and he can't change his suspect chin. We'll see how he does in the re-match with Wlad, I see an early Wlad KO.
It's worth seeing him against the Super Heavies just to get a taste of how a full-sized classic HW with movement like Ali or Holmes might've handled them. Usyk's got very similar height/reach dimensions to both.
Well the super heavies right now are unproven and a little suspect. Far from Bowe, Lewis, and the Klitschko's. But it could prove you can be 6'3" tall and champion vs bigger and taller man.
