Usyk has also never beat anyone on Tyson's level.

And I would say Michael Spinks is comparable to Usyk, Spinks like Usyk moved up in weight and was successful. In this era if Fury destroyed Usyk it would be comparable to Tyson destroying Spinks.

Although I'm not saying Tyson would destroy Usyk like he did Spinks.......but it is comparable is it not ?

Spinks had a better Light Heavyweight resume than Usyk does at Cruiserweight, and beating Larry Holmes at Heavyweight is better than beating Anthony Joshua.

    Agreed.

    I don't agree.

Spinks was much smaller than Usyk is. He began professionally at 165 and was boxing at 175 till almost thirty. Usyk's pro career was at 200 lbs and up.

Moreover, IMO, Usyk is a better boxer than Spinks.

    Again, No.

Spinks was petrified of Tyson from the moment he left his dressing room till the first bell.
Usyk has no fear of Fury whatsoever.
    If anything, it's the reverse.

Hes bigger than Spinks agreed but it is comparable with Usyk and Spinks both moving up in weight. Spinks had never been floored legitimately as a professional coming into Tyson fight, and it was a huge unification fight so i would say it is comparable to if Fury destroyed Usyk.

Whilst Spinks was intimidated by Tyson that's not what I'm really getting at, I'm comparing it to the significance of both fights being comparable regarding being big unification fight which they are.

And heres a few other things you could also say, Tyson is a much better opponent than Fury who looked like crap in his last fight against an MMA fighter, and alot of people think Fury could be past it. You could also say Spinks was younger than Usyk is right now who some think could be on the slide aswell.

As for Usyk being a better boxer than Spinks ? Yeah I'll give you that. But on the flip side Spinks is a much better puncher than Usyk and has other attributes that Usyk doesn't have.

Aj hit harder with one shot, but that wasn't Mike's game at all. Mike was a combination power puncher. Much faster hands and feet than AJ to boot. Worked behind his jab when needed. Had some of the best head movement and countering the heavyweight division has ever seen to this day. Oh and an outstanding left hook to the body. Usyk would literally have to run for his life to keep prime Iron Mike off him for a whole fight, and he wouldn't get a decision that way. If he fought post prime Tyson, the version that primarily became a headhunter while no longer moving his head or his feet much? He very well could beat that version of him but plenty of guys could so that's not a special distinction.

The moment after you sign up to a boxing forum and see people saying (in seriousness) that Hughie ****ing Fury could beat Ali...

I mean to say Ali wouldn’t crack the top 50 today is just being incredibly ignorant of his achievements. Can’t believe this is even a discussion. Hughie Fury has fewer than 5 KOs, Ali accumulated far more stoppages against far better opponents including George Foreman. I will remind you this is the same Foreman who gave a peak Holyfield a good text and sparked out Moorer at 45. The same Holyfield who in his 40s gave modern giants like Valuev fits and was only beaten by the judges.

Your agenda against the old eras is obvious and without any logic. Hughie has shown none of the levels of Ali, fought lesser opponents unless you are about to tell me the likes of Christian Hammer and Sam Sexton are better than Joe Frazier and George Foreman, and objectively has worse ring IQ, punching power, speed, and durability.

You make some great points but I think from a style perspective this would be a terrible match up for Usyk. Joshua is not a pressure fighter and I don’t think he has the same kind of firepower as Tyson in BOTH hands (crucial point). Usyk has struggled with pressure fighters like Chisora and Briedis who are far inferior to Tyson. I think Mike’s relentless pressure and power would catch Usyk, especially his body, and get him out of there. I struggle to see him winning this one personally.

Stopped reading when you said Ali is the most overrated boxer in history. Nearly forgot you hail Fury as the greatest despite the fact he arguably lost to an MMA fighter.

Usyk doesn`t use his rear hand to control the space he just uses his lead hand constantly which wouldn`t be enough to keep Mike off, Tyson used the counter right hook a lot, Usyk doesn`t counter much with his rear hand just keeps it`s pressed to his chin, Tyson used more head movement than Usyk does which would give him and advantage, Mike would throw too many hooks for Usyk, he would miss a lot with his left hook because he was too active with his body movement before he threw that punch so Usyk would use his fast in and out movement to evade most of Tyson`s left hooks, by Mike was more two-fisted than Usyk is and would overwhelm him.

Usyk is going to look human against everyone he fights at Heavyweight. Just like Tyson did. It's tough to always fight bigger guys. Tyson was only 5'10.

Usyk and Evander aren’t in any way alike.

Evander was much stronger with a great inside game.

And whether you believe Evander would always have beaten Mike, Evander fought a version of Mike from 1996.

We’re talking here about a version of Mike from the mid 80’s.

Not a head hunter. A version who was both offensively and defensively much more dynamic.

Mike didn’t have to have beaten anybody on Usyk’s level.

Again, it’s how those two specifically would realistically have matched up on the night stylistically.

It wouldn’t have been a pick ‘em fight, simply because Mike would have jumped on Usyk, where he’d have limited his time and space.

He’d have gotten inside of his range, where he’d have thrown power punches, which would have put him under relentless and severe pressure. And as great as Usyk is, he simply doesn’t possess the tools to either have deterred or stopped Mike from moving in on him.

He has absolutely nothing to have kept Mike off of him.

Mike was just as fast, if not faster, with huge firepower.

Mike would have targeted his body and Usyk wouldn’t have had the room to have boxed with him.

Usyk couldn’t handle a ferocious pressure fighter like Mike.

Tyson is a bad match up for Usyk.

To beat Tyson you need to be a big unit with a strong jab.
