Usyk has too much class for any of them. A southpaw with great footwork, insane stamina and handspeed, I don't think any of them ever saw something like that.
Yeah, easily the best cruiserweight era with seen. Sure Holyfield's era with DeLeon, Qawi, Norris, Spinks, Ocasio and obviously Holyfield too comes close but the amount of depth that it has right now is unrivaled. By all means, let's hear your arguments! I always respect your opinions. Usyk may well be the most talented 'big guy' since the 90s.
I think Usyk could actually potentially beat Louis, did Louis ever fight a southpaw? If not that could actually make all the difference believe it or not, someone can have all the skills in the world but if they don’t know how to box a southpaw then what good are those skills if they’re fighting a southpaw?
So your grandparents were in their 30s when you were born? When i was 18, my grandparents were all late 60s or early 70s and my parents were well into their 40s.
I hate to compare fighters of today to guys like that from so long ago but I will say that Uysk is the goods. Whenever he fights, all of the guys from my gym get together and watch him. He does everything so well. His footwork and ring generalship is off the charts. I truly think he beats Fury and Joshua.
It's really easy to say Usyk beats them all but we are talking about a guy who's a complete unknown at heavyweight. Add the fact that he would have to fight 15 round fights against guys who were in the ring month over month. it's easy to miss how much more grueling being a professional fighter was back then regardless of the advances modern training has gained.
Being big and beating men in a division with a weight limit is not the same as beating big men who are fully tested in the limitless division that is heavyweight. It skews the talent pool greatly imo
What? I don't follow. You're saying that the current cruiserweights aren't tested vs heavyweights because there's a weight restriction, and that yesteryears are, despite being the same size or smaller than the current cruiserweights? I can get that, I agree with it and am on board. But it hasn't next to no relevance, as Usyk doesn't need to be tested against big men to beat four of the five men here.
He really does in my opinion. He's beaten a bunch of guys who in my opinion (and I know this is not popular) have been fighting in what is more or less a domestic level division (since the limit change to 200 pounds). I do not believe guys like Tony Bellew and Gassiev would stand a chance against guys like Schmeling and Sharkey
