    He never said he wouldn't fight fury, he said he didn't want to fight him this year.

    He's not obligated to take a fight 3 months after his last fight. Fury is not a mandatory, maybe Usyk at 36 needs more time to recover.

    He said he'd fight him in next year. There was 11 months between the two Joshua/Usyk fights.
