This. Even an undisputed cruiserweight champ can only be given so much credit, since all of the top cruisers could easily compete at heavyweight.

For any cruiser to be considered great they would need to move up and have success against some top heavies. Usyk at 6'3" could easily maintain his speed and stamina at around 210-215 and he has the skill set to become a champ at heavyweight.

Holyfield could've easily went undefeated his whole career if he stayed at cruiserweight.

Moore also could've easily went undefeated if he stayed at 175, but jumped straight to heavyweight and became managed to become the unified heavyweight champ.

No British or Murican elites there, hence that weight class is irrelevant to them. Total ignorance.

No, no virus at all. I've seen and read about enough fighters dying broke to know better than to let some mainstream admiration and trophies blind me to the facts.
People say the Mayweather money scheme is bad but have tried in vain to cast every white face they can in his likeness from Conor McGregor to Vasyl Lomamchenko being compared to him at 130. If Mayweather was wrong why are major promoters trying to copy is every move?
Why are fighters trying to copy his moves in business and otherwise?
Who doesn't want to be insanely rich in a sport where they are putting their health on the line?
Its a foolish Jedi mind trick that does not work on me Pap. Money is MORE important and always has been.

How many fighters are legendary but died broke? Their families cannot eat those worthless trophies and belts.
Never forget what happened to Joe Louis

    White face?

Lomachenko is arguably the greatest boxing talent along with Mayweather that we'll ever see in our lifetime.....if I've read your post correctly?

Money is important in the grand scheme of things, 9f course it is but legacy is more important in the boxing books.

I agree to a point with you my man in regards to getting paid, every fighter should get their premium but when money comes above legacy or at the very quality fights I can't agree.

Usyk may be on the cusp of being the greatest cruiserweight of his time. Which in itself, is a great accomplishment. Let's not get ahead of ourselves and just enjoy what he has done up to this point. Becoming an ATG is in the realm of possibility, but we're not there yet.

Well, I was going to bother trying to make an articulate post in here, but I see it's already turned into a **** show.

I tip my hat and bid you farewell, gentlemen.

Not on the cusp necessarily, but he's definitely on the right track. Its all about stacking up as many quality wins as possible. I think its easier to point out the moment when a fighter earns IBHOF status than it is to pinpoint when they become a bona fide atg.

Either way, he's got some distance to cover before we need to start worrying about that imho

I'm not seeing it with Usyk. I see vulnerability.

Here's the thing though Joe Louis is dead and he will go down as a great boxer in history. He will always be remembered. It will probably take thousands of years for people to forget who he was and how great of a fighter he was. Floyd Mayweather will go down as a great talent, but will go down in history without a signature win over an elite fighter in their prime. It's up to you what matters more, but since I cannot spend Floyd's money, a fighters boxing is more important to me.

Think about it. Most people are forgotten after their grandkids die. When me, my cousins and sisters die nobody will know who my grandpa is. His name will be lost, his likeness will be lost, everything will be lost. Essentially, everything about him will be forever gone, lost in history. The only thing he will have left with lasting influence is his DNA, but eventually after enough generations or so everybody's line is diluted to the point where you cannot even trace it. This all adds up a man being completely forgotten like he had never even walked the Earth. I know that when I die and all my grandkids have died then for all intents and purposes it will be like I never even existed. That is unless of course I do something significant enough to be remembered in history. Which Mayweather you could argue has done. He's made the most money of any fighter. But I'd rather be remembered as a truly great fighter like Joe Louis for example than a guy who ran from great fighters like DLH in their prime to chase more money.

tinman don't act like nobody knows who Floyd Mayweather Jr. is. You are saying it as if he has not made a great legacy already. You are literally pretending that he made nearly a billion dollars fighting total bums. This is about Usyk being a nobody and the cruiserweight division being and always have been a NOTHING division. It's literally a catch-weight division for guys to timid to go to heavyweight.
Now this is not important as a tournament and it does not even matter. It's not even being covered on Youtube by anybody that's how non important this Cruiser tourney is, lets not lose track.

Mayweather is not worthy of carrying Joe Louis' jock strap! Joe Louis fought, made lots of money and gave it to the United States Government for the war effort. He was a great patriot...............Rocky Marciano thought the world of him along with so many others, except the United States Government! After giving all that money to the government, the government thanked him by stealing all his money, making him die broke! Instead of thanking him, they broke him! Today, the poor/middle class have to pay taxes to make the rich richer................instead of healthcare, the government gives huge amounts of money to the extremely rich! The rich do not have to pay taxes.................but the rest of us do...................
