Mike Tyson has that many holes in the resume, so over rated, majority of the resume is bums he should have beat.

You want a picture of him holding the relevant belts? Who else should he have swept into the dustbin? Dubois?

You don't clean the "divison" beating 3 people. The top guys yes, but styles make fights. When Usyks best win avoided virtually the whole top 10 since his comeback and arguably lost to a 37 year old UFC fighter prior, that's the signal that Furys status as being heads and shoulders above everyone else is an illusion. He hasn't touched the contenders besides Dubois who didn't deserve the shot. Complete nonesense.

Tyson and Ali are unique and iconic
Tyson doesn't have the longevity and his crash takes away from his greatness, however it may add to his legend. What he did as a kid can not be replicated

What was Usyk doing aged 20?? He wasn't the baddest man on the planet that is for sure. Everyone knows Tyson wasn't the same when he became a celebrity. Mike was the most famous athlete, perhaps man on the planet at ta time, like Ali before him. Unlike Ali he didn't have the mental qualities/maturity to handle the situation.

Francis Ngannou didn't have a Television, yet he knew who Tyson was and wanted to be him? Do you think kids in poor countries even know who Usyk is?

Mike in his prime was a far better fighter. If people want to put usyk ahead in some BS lists because he has never lost? Knock yourself out, but when we are all dust, i guarantee you it won't be usyk people watch and read about. He will just be another champion, not an iconic legend like Ali or Tyson

Just to add, despite his losses, I am pretty sure Mike has more ranked wins than Usyk and Spinks is head and shoulders p4p WAY better than anyone on Usyk's resume. Old holmes would batter Joshua and maybe even that version of fury lol

Who gives a **** about fame. I can't believe what I'm reading. I thought this was a forum for hardcores, not casuals on facebook,

Butterbean, Amir Khan, Adrien Broner, Jake Paul and Audley Harrison are more famous and known than Harry Greb, Henry Armstrong and Nino Benvenuti..

Mike Tyson is more famous than any boxer, yet he's not even a top 100 Greatest ever boxer. He's not even a top 15 best ever HW.

You know Tyson can't be compared to greatness and in the ring ability with Usyk, so you start bringing up fame and profile when it has no relevance to the topic :lol:

It's usually fat old men, casuals who think Tyson was anything great

Tyson was one dimensional, overrated, with the shortest prime ever, a hypejob

He couldn't adapt to save his life, never got up for a KO to win.

People clearly overrate him because of his fame/persona. And that he was American

The vast majority of his record was built around beating nobodies and washed up fighters.

You cannot compare this guy to Usyk, Usyk is everything Tyson wasn't - When it comes to all round ability, consistency, adaptabilty, success, longevity. Usyk has completed the entire boxing game.

And if you wanna talk about outside the ring unnecessary things, talk about how Usyk is a far better human being than Tyson. He's a fantastic role model. Whereas Tyson was a scumbag, bully, ******, racist, ped cheat, sore loser, ear biting piece of ****.

Unbelievable. Holmes and Spinks were both WAAAAYYYY past their prime when they fought Tyson, and those are the BEST wins you can come up with. I would argue that Tony Tucker was the only really good fighter Tyson beat in their prime.

Usyk broke Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury, both of which were considered the best heavyweights in the world (aside from him) when he beat them. And he was 34 years and 8 months old when he fought Joshua the FIRST time. When Tyson was the same age, he was beating Brian Neilsen and about 200 days out from getting spanked like a child by Lennox Lewis.

This isn't even a fair comparison. The best fighters of Tyson's era were Lennox, Holyfield, Bowe. He was 0-3 against the 3 and never fought Bowe. If you only look at the short span when he was beating the Pinklon Thomases and Trevor Burbicks of the world, you're not serious. He was toe to toe with Razor Ruddock who couldn't even give Lennox rounds and got KTFO by Tommy Morrison.

Not to mention, Usyk has never been beaten as a pro. Ever. No Tokyo Douglases in his resume. Only two men have EVER knocked Usyk down. One was a low blow and the other was freaking Beterbiev.

Somebody might beat Usyk one day. Maybe it will be Dubois...I doubt it though. But remember, Usyk is 38 years old. When Tyson was 38, he was getting outright knocked out or retired by Danny Williams and Kevin McBride.

Aside from hype and some highlight knockouts, there is not one way Tyson compares to Usyk favorably.

Tyson beating Spinks would've been equivalent of Fury beating Usyk at the time it's a very good win.

Holmes was past his prime yes but was he ever knocked out again ? No. And he went on to school a prime Mercer and have a close fight with a prime Holyfield after losing to Tyson.

Spinks and Holmes had over 100 combined fights and 30+ world title fights and they were only stopped once in their whole career by Tyson hence they're good wins in context.

Fury was past his prime also he was coming off an abysmal performance vs an MMA fighter and 36 years old but I don't see you mentioning Fury was past his prime ?

How can Fury be considered the best Heavyweight when he was coming off arguably losing to an MMA fighter and hadn't beaten a ranked contender since 2022 ? He hasn't fought enough notable contenders that he would be considered the best.

Likewise Joshua has been destroyed by Dubois and got battered by Ruiz he also hasnt had a real signficant win for about 5 years.

Yes it's a very fair comparison Tyson is rated higher than Usyk at Heavyweight he has more quality wins, more world title wins, more wins vs ranked fighters.

    Tyson's resume at Heavyweight.....

    Michael Spinks
    Larry Holmes
    Tony Tucker
    Frank Bruno x2
    Razor Ruddock x2
    Trevor Berbick
    Pinklon Thomas
    Bonecrusher Smith
    Tyrell Biggs
    Carl Williams
    Alex Stewart
    Bruce Seldon
    Andrew Golota
    Francois Botha

    12 world title wins.

    Usyk's Heavyweight resume...

    Tyson Fury x2
    Anthony Joshua x2
    Daniel Dubois
    Dereck Chisora

    5 world title wins.

Usyk is rated higher P4P than Tyson for his achievements at Cruiserweight and Heavweight. But in regards to strictly Heavyweight rankings Tyson is clearly above Usyk and I don't see how you can argue against it with the facts I've presented.

Tyson for sure. Usyk has had very few fights in his career, especially as a heavyweight. In my opinion he has at least three questionable victories. Tyson had over 60 fights against the best of a generation. When he was champ, he routinely pummeled top contenders, didn’t squeak by people with decisions. I’m not a sensitive Tyson fan, but I can’t rate a guy with so few fights over him.

Exactly. He's the most overrated boxer ever by far. His fanboys talk like there isn't footage of him getting knocked out and losing numerous times, and like he didn't lose to every elite fighter he fought, weird delusion.
