Ukrainian papers and websites are reporting that it should be made official sometime this week.

He had talked with American and British promoters but didn't recieve much interest from them apparently (The ESPN and Dan Rafael reports that he signed with Top Rank were false for those who havent followed it). After the trip to the US with Lomachenko and realizing there wasn't as much oppertunity for him there was speculation of him possibly returning to amateur boxing or APB so as long as he goes pro i'll be happy. K2 probably is the best fit for him especially if he is going to start out as a CW they've done a good job with Golovkin and Ola Afolabi.

Usyk is very patriotic, has a Wife and Kids, endorsement deals, does commercials and is very popular at home so being able to base himself out of Ukraine is probably another bonus for him.

Good stuff. I wonder if he'll make it onto the Povetkin vs Klitschko card.

That would be ideal but i doubt it. It isn't official yet, they would have to find an opponent on 1 month notice and who knows if Usyk is in shape he hasn't fought for several months.

It's a good move for him to sign with K-2. They've done excellent work with Golovkin and Afolabi.

And now Mike Perez after signing with K-2 will be on HBO Nov 2.

He made the smart move. Cruiserweight isn't the weight for someone to build themselves up in America and it's one that Top Rank historically has little, if any, interest in. Usyk would have a tough time maximizing his career had he made that choice.

K2 is making a little niche for themselves and signing some decent fighters.

I hope they can do a better job with him than they did with GGG. Took a long time until they got him a decent fight.

What do you mean? They did a great job with GGG. He hasn't been promoted by them for that long, and look where he's at now. They can't force anyone in the ring with him though.
