Oleksandr Usyk, the future heavyweight champion of the world.

Here's one vote for yes, and I will explain why.

Usyk is currently 8-0, with 8 Ko's Yes-- He is a cruiser weight now, but he has to train down to make weight. At 6'3" I see no trouble with him making 215-220 pounds.

In the professional ranks Usyk has shown great skills, movement and good power. But its not his professional results that have me thinking he's the best man after Wlad retires.

In the amateurs Usyk has sparred with the best super heavies, and he has bettered them. I have seen many of Povetkin's amateur matches and think Usyk is a better overall talent.

The southpaw has a very good chin, and if there is such as think pound for pound type of skills for his weight class.

He may become a champion but I'm not sure he'll take over the division, I think he's better off at cruiser he could really dominate this division potentially.

I respect you Mendoza, but I still think its a tiny bit early for such predictions yet,,,,you could be right,

let him unify CW first and then review this same question :bbb

I need to see more of him. Also if he's so good let's start going after the best in the division Now.

It's still too early, but tell me who is a better prospect/contender at Cruiser or Heavy that is better than Usyk?

People are getting caught up in the hype and jerking off a bit too much to him....time will tell what he can do, no need to crown an heir apparent just this moment.

If he wants the money he moves up quickly.

The talent in heavyweight division is getting older. I'd pick Usyk to beat Wilder right now.

On speed, skills and durability, Usky would shine at heavyweight.

My favorite Usky moment was when Teddy Atlas first saw him. He started out negative, then he saw him fight and his jaw dropped.

Teddy Atlas was probably just reacting to what a douchebag Usyk looks like with that hair cut.

He's certainly going to pogger some top cruiserweight contenders. and as Aquamarine said he'd beat Wilder now.

Once Wlad steps down, Usyk has the ability to be the guy.

He might even be better suited to HW than CW. His speed of hand and foot and athleticism would be accentuated even more when facing bigger, slower opponents at the higher weight. Most of those guys would have a real problem catching him cleanly with any regularity or with a KO shot (especially the super HW sized ones), whereas down at CW against smaller, faster and more skilled opponents those advantages of his wouldn't be as telling. I remember when many on here were predicting Eddie Chambers to take over the CW division when he moved down there, but I didn't think that was going to be case for the reasons I've given. Obviously there would be an increased risk of getting his lights put out should he get caught with a bomb from a super HW with savage power like Wladimir though.
