If i was Usyk i'd say go ahead to the IBF take the belt, Usyk has reached the pinnacle and won the undisputed title, it is challengers who will suffer as the titles will once again be fragmented, their hopes of being undisputed would be a much longer journey for them, and given the time since the last undisputed titleist, might well be impossibility for present era of heavyweights

An undisputed rematch has the priority on any other title defence. Otherwise there wouldnt be order but true chaos and all the federations know that and this is the last thing they want to happen.

According to the IBF, no. They said specificaly - undisputed has priority, if there is a rematch IBF is stripped

...and then it will mean that belt wont count a **** anymore. Trust, until October nothing will change, all federations will find an agreement to allow the rematch happen. IBF rules are no mandatory in cases like this because are too much money at stake for it.

Imagine if Fury wins that, that would be another year of mandatory challengers being denied a shot a belt. Complete monopoly by Usyk, Joshua and Fury.

I think he's number 2 until him and AJ face and see, but I get what you mean, it's not proven.

I can see arguments both ways.

I think most probably see Fury as #2... And unless the money is huge, he'll probably keep it that way by not taking the fight.

On resumes, Joshua's probably slightly better - on current H2H I think he's at least a 60/40 bet to beat Fury... And Joshua might well find his way back to a belt, which I don't think Fury will, just because of how much time and hunger they each have.

But... Put them against the rest from Parker down and who's going to do better? I couldn't honestly say - and that's why I can't quite separate them.

It needs proving - but it won't be.

Correct. Uysk beat Fury fair and square. The ref broke the rules, though.

Ahhhh...the alphabet soup of boxing organizations doing their thing.

It's really hard to unify in the current era due to the number of different organizations and their agendas.

To me, that makes the Fury-Usyk fight of even more historical significance.

They don’t need to do anything because yesterday he won the title. They won’t strip the title straight away but will say winner of Dubois vs Hrgovic must face AJ for the title in September. Fury may not invoke the rematch clause as the reality sinks in that he cannot beat Usyk. Usyk at 38 having made his money may well retire. If you stay to long at this age someone will get to you and not because they are better. Father Time is undefeated for a reason.

All the reports points to him getting stripped.

Usyk doesn't care. He already accomplished what he need to do and that was to become undisputed. The same thing happened to Lewis after he became undisputed when he refused to fight John Ruiz.

It must pain Fury to know that he cannot become undisputed if he wins the rematch.

Hrgovic already accepted step aside money twice to allow the Undisputed fight to proceed. He was a gentleman about it. He could have been a dick and blew up the Undisputed fight, but he didn't it. Usyk is Undisputed. Hrgovic is free to force a title fight without judgement IMO.
