Posters with substance wouldn't assume 1980s heavyweights would beat 2010s cruiserweights simply on the basis of being heavyweights. Dismissing Usyks win over Gassiev on him not being proven at heavyweight isn't an argument I can respect. If someone thinks beating Bruno trumps a win over Breidis maybe they are hopelessly biased or just plain crazy. By that logic Rex Layne and Don Cockell are better wins than Bivol. Due to the blatant ducking at heavyweight I think its probably better legacy wise to fight at cruiserweight where the possibility exists the other top fighters will fight you. Had Breidis turned pro at heavyweight he is probably ducked by Fury, Joshua, and Wilder and every top heavyweight aside from Derek Chisora who will fight anyone. Eventually Usyk moves up and maybe beats Breidis like he did in real life at cruiserweight. Under that scenario the only legacy he leaves is beating Derek Chisora and being ducked by everyone else until Usyk comes along and maybe fights him. With regards to cruiserweight I don't feel I have to show that they were all exactly the same size as Tyson to argue the fights are as relevant (or more) as his heavyweight bouts. In my view at 200 plus a difference of 9 pounds or less isn't significant. If Huck was 8 1/2 pounds lighter than Tyson and Bellew 7 3/4 pounds that makes them essentially the same size as Tyson. That's going off fights they had over the limit which is the best guess we have. Unless you can think of something better to go on.
You probably would have said the same to someone who would have said Tyson stops Spinks in the 1st round before he actually did it.
On Mike Tyson record, compared to Usyk's 2024 Fury is about as good as 1988 Tubbs. Fat guys with skills but no discipline and in poor form generally.
I dont think so, Tubbs only beat journeymen between 87-89 and got demolished by Tyson with 0 resistance, Fury put up a hell of a performance against Usyk and before the Ngannou disaster he completely outclassed Chisora who showed he can still protect the gates against anyone.
A 39 year old Chisora wouldn't be better than a journeyman in the 1980s. He is just an old plodder. Ngannou disaster can't be ignored. Face it Fury's shown unremarkable or poor form post-Covid. He looked good in Wilder 2 but since then nothing much.
Chisora would literally kill the people Tubbs was beating during that time frame. Probably so would Ngannou. Yeah but he looked extremely good against Usyk. Holyfield was coming off of **** performances against Tyson as well.
Yeah Im sure 3 more losses make all the difference, just get out before you embarrass yourself again dude, you probably never even watched a Tubbs match in your life.
The vast majority of the forum would disagree with you. Butler isn't better than Bowe and Witherspoon who Tubbs ran close. Chisora isn't even as good as Greg Page or James Smith who Tubbs beat. We can ditch losses if you want, but just let me know, who did Chisora beat again ?
