“When I beat Tony Bellew, they said it was nothing. But when the Ukrainian, Usyk, beats Bellew, all of a sudden it’s a big deal and, ‘this is a big champion.'…So now Usyk is a monster and he’s unbeatable…one of the best fighters, pound-for-pound. But, hey, when I beat Tony Bellew, that was a young, hungry Tony Bellew,” said Stevenson. “Usyk beat an old Tony Bellew, and, still, when they fought, Bellew was winning the fight before Uysk knocked him out. I thought Tony Bellew was dominating the fight, but when I fought Bellew, he couldn’t win one round. And then, I destroyed Tony Bellew, easily. So the Tony Bellew who fought Usyk was not on the same level as the guy who fought me. So this is another hype job.” Adonis was after that big Bellew payday and is acting a bit salty now. He was ready to go up to beat the scouser again for the undisputed cruiserweight championship. But how about Usyk vs Stevenson, the versions who fought Bellew. Who wins?
Stevenson was delusional if he thinks he was beating anyone up at cruiser. Hell, at cruiser he would lose (again) in a rematch with shot-to-bits Darnell Boone, who earlier this month fought in the division to a draw with a 9-13-4 opponent.
Anybody who saw Mchunu land that left hand whenever he decided to fight back, would be foolish to think Stevenson wouldn't have a chance. A bulked up, prime Stevenson would have even more power in that left hand. I'd favor Usyk, but wouldn't be surprised if Stevenson dropped him and won some rounds.
Stevenson already had to modify his style, under Steward, to protect his glass chin at LHW. You think he can take hits from 200lb men? Okay, sure, whatever makes you happy.
Stevenson has gotten hit flush in several fights, and while hurt, it's not the glass mandible that some of you make it out to be. Get your panties out of a bunch, I said I still favored Usyk. How dare I say that Stevenson could drop the Ukrainian? Such blaspheming, lol
I don't care about what you said, I'm more incensed by this little rat turd deluding himself (and maybe some idiot fans) into thinking he could have made noise at cruiser but that Usyk has cock-blocked him from the ideal gateway, through Bellew. Smacks of sour grapes. He knows he wouldn't last a minute at CW.
at this clown playing the victim. The Bellew he fought was a weight drained cadaver who looked like he'd just been dragged out of a morgue and reanimated This content is protected That reanimated corpse of Bellew was dropped by cotton bud fists 3-22-0 (now 10-102-3 (4KOs) Latvian journeymen with hideously low KO%, by light hitter Bob Ajisafe, dropped so hard by Ovil Mckenzie (who admittedly is a banger) that there's still a massive dent in the canvas where his head landed to this day. Adonis' resume has less meat on it than Bellew had on him at 175 weigh ins and yes Bellew would've been very ''hungry'' then. Like literally dying for a morsel of food.
He soiled the honor of plenty of young women in his day, but at least we got the satisfaction of him being KTFO the once (thank you, Mr. Boone!) although it would be a sublime gift to see it happen again.
This. A prime Stevenson would definitely have a chance at beating Usyk. The main advantage I’d give to Usyk is his gas tank, but at the same time Usyk’s defense is sloppy. A prime Stevenson would easily beat everyone else at cruiserweight, since the top 175 fighters are at least 2-3 levels above the top fighters at cruiserweight. Plenty of guys that aren’t championship material at 175 would be champions at cruiserweight.
