Usyk is going bananas, hunkering down and tilting in with his feet planted unleashing rapid fire assaults on the midsection of Venter. The South African leaves himself completely exposed down there while covering his face, getting maneuvered into the ropes where he is given no choice but to wait it out, not daring to attempt to counter lest Usyk punish him with a left on the face.

They promote lots of guys. They don't necessarily like all of them. (remember Ustinov?)

They clearly root for Usyk, and get emotional about him, and you get the impression they would be fans even if he weren't a promotional interest of theirs.

 

Yeah, this is a SOLID challenge for your sixth pro bout.

Even if Usyk goes the distance for the first time here, no shame in that (even though Venter has a few stoppage losses)

 

Round 8

Usyk is trotting in and out, staying off the Venter jab, ducking quickly when he needs to, leaping spryly to either side off his insoles. Quick right jabs thrown at the face of Venter tirelessly, all straight and sharp and accurate. Venter is keeping his legs more than shoulder width apart, looking to resume his earlier success timing Usyk with the single right hand, but just can't find him.
