I think Usyk's footwork and defence and angles win this for him. To me it doesn't look like Dempsey liked movers that much, and especially not one of Usyk's size. I'll take him on points.
Usyk is about the same height as Ali and Foreman, given that Usyk’s career is still ongoing and that he has yet to prove himself in the heavyweight division I would slightly favor Dempsey...
Skills alone wouldn't confuse Dempsey. He beat up Gibbons pretty easily and Tommy is one of the most skilled fighters ever. That said, Usyk has both skills and size - this could be a factor here.
Yes, did I say anything wrong then? I'm not going to tell you that Usyk would dominate Dempsey after Joshua fight, but I alwayd thought that he's capable of beating Jack.
Just seemed like a bit of an understatement. I suspect you might be right though, that Usyk’s superior size and skills could be a factor…
If you hope that I'd say Usyk dominates Dempsey (or the other way around), then I have to disappoint you. I think I may prefer Usyk due to his unique defensive ability and his excellent use of feints, but: - Dempsey was likely as fast as Usyk, which could cause him some problems, - Dempsey likely hit harder and he was a dirty pressure fighter - that's good style to beat Usyk, - Dempsey wasn't as gunshy as Joshua, which could lead him to be either more problematic for Usyk or to be stopped before twelve round.
Maybe watch Dempsey's fights with Tunney before posting again. Usyk is far superior technically to the inimitable Gene Tunney, he's also much larger. Like the difference between Tunney and Ray Leonard larger.
