Usyk would absolutely toy with him and stop him, a much bigger man, a much much (x10) more skilled fighter, better chin, better stamina, better training, better everything. If you think Jack Dempsey beats Usyk you need to start thinking more objectively and not through nostalgic lenses, a genuinely embarrassing opinion. Guru
So the mediocre light heavyweight and cruiserweight is better than Dempsey. Another modern day fighter hyped up by Sky with the smoke and mirrors method applied to his resume.
When did I say he was better? I said he is a better technical boxer with a faster straight right hand with height and reach that rivals Usyk's, that's why he was landing on Usyk, anyway, he didn't take any huge punches, just some glancing ones
Dempsey struggled with good boxers and Usyk is not only a very good boxer much like Gene Tunney but he us a 6'3" 220lb fighter which would make him a giant.....a giant with better footwork and skills than possible even Gene Tunney himself.....we just didnt see Usyk enough at cruiser with someone as fast of foot and handspeed as Jack but I think Usyk beats him
Dempsey tries to do one of his infamous "Dempsey Rolls" and crudely charges towards Usyk, eating a gruesome right hand right in the jaw and immediately collapsing in the fencing posture. Usyk KO1.
Dempsey got out boxed by Tunney so Usyk will run circles around him. Although I do feel Tunney is underrated in h2h, he is no Oleksander Usyk.
Huge fan of both fighters. Uzyk is a perfect foil to Dempsey. Tunney showed what a smart boxer could do and he practically won every round against Jack ( past prime) So, by all means a bigger, stronger, skilled man should beat the smaller one. Of all the modern cruisers, Uzyk is the one I would love to see fighting the Marciano's, Louis, Schmelling and Patterson's. That said, something about the animal in a prime hungry Dempsey coupled with his ferocity makes me think a second time. Dempsey with throw himself into Uzyk - crouching to get inside, Dempsey even gets caught for a flash knockdown, but at some point Uzyk gets caught himself and put down , perhaps because of overconfidence but he gets up and starts schooling Dempsey again. But the next time Dempsey catches him, it's over. Dempsey by KO in 9.....not at all confident about it. My questions are... Is Uzyk better than Tunney and how far was Dempsey past prime in those fights.
