    Sean "Beast of War" Gee. 5-3 in MMA, 2-1 in boxing heading into Martinez's debut.

    Gee has a VERY solid chin (but no defense), was in excellent physical condition with lots of fast-twitch muscle and no bulk, and knows how to use his fists.

    Help in building confidence in a kids mind as well.

    Unless your 400-0 as an amatuer, there are usually some doubts in a youngsters mind turning pro.

    Are the shots gonna hurt more? Are the fighters hungrier b/c of the financial implications?

    Plenty of reasons to bring a youngster along at a certain pace.

    Now.....guys like Wilder, still fighting journeyman and gatekeepers past 25 fights....that's a different story, but IMO, Lomachenko, with all the amateur success in the world was horribly matched in his second fight. Records be damned.
    Salido is a cagey veteran contender. And he wasnt coming to win a title, but to welcome a green youngster to the bigs.
    Im a fan of Lomas, but he's gonna be right on the cusp of falling off with every fight until he's got 13-14 behind him.

    And with his prowess to date, he can't go backwards if you get my drift. It's B level plus or bust.

    And there's a dozen Salido types out there that on a good night could burst the Loma bubble again.
