Anyone that's just coming in and confused: Baysangurov is wearing the black, even though he's Ukrainian and Robakidze (who's Georgian) is rocking the Ukraine flag color trunks...

I really liked the debuts of Ken Shiro, Naoya Inoue, Takuma Inoue and Kosei Tanaka. Solid opposition for the talented fromer amateurs, but opposition both men had the skills and ability to beat. Murata facing Shibata was another good one.

Seems rather basic to me to be honest.

The scouting report on Robakidze: susceptible to body shots, more so than head. I'm guessing most of his stoppage losses came from them.

Baysangurov is actually Russian, but is based in Kiev

    Khusein?

Yeah, that was a tepid start but he's doing the business...and if he stops chasing Roba's face and drops altitude with his shots he could probably make it a short night's work as he does seem to have a little heft in his punches.

    10-9 Baysangurov

Ah. Well still, you'd expect with two boxers in the ring the one that lives in the country where the event's being held to be the one in the national colors, and not the flown-in opponent.

    Two nothing Baysangurov.

Roba has some veteran savvy, knows how to roll with punches and not get hit too cleanly (or very often), but he's being kept in a shell and driven all over this big-ass ring. Extremely one-sided in terms of volume thrown, even if Baysangurov isn't making his mark with much.

Does he have a little flag on his shorts? Because white and blue isn't the Ukrainian flag.

    :patsch

Right you are. Jesus. I knew that. (if nothing else from covering the Olympics & WSB and seeing the little flag icon all over the place, given what beasts they are in the amateurs)

I was thinking of the color scheme of the Ukrainian TV station airing this event, Inter. :!:

Okay...another pot of coffee going on for IB. Long week.
