Oleksandr Usyk vs. Pedro Rodriguez & Oleg Malinovskiy vs. Aldimar Santos RBR

So, good for Max, rebounding from the loss to Zac Dunn (ironically he snapped the losing streak to Fletcher and Murray by scoring a TKO2 over another Georgian, Ramazi Gogichashvili) - but I think we can safely conclude that he is now done.

He isn't big, long or strong enough to compete with the best at SMW (and carries lots of flab), and his days of making 160lb are seemingly behind him.

 

So far no Ukrainian has come off smelling like roses today.

Kyszyltsyn got crucified by a vastly superior fighter, and Bursak was made to look very ordinary by a freaking Georgian (and only salvaged the KO because, well, the opponent was a freaking Georgian..)

 

Bekman Soylybayev vs. Kakhaber Avetisian, 6 rounds @ lightweight

 

Avetisian is another Georgian, albeit somewhat tough by that country's standards (having 32 defeats and only 9 by KO :! - being fed to a Kazakh prospect who is training in the US hoping to follow in Golovkin's footsteps.

 

Oh yeah, I remember Soylybayev. He looked awful last time out despite pitching a shutout and scoring two knockdowns, on the Bivol vs. Romero undercard.

Yeah for a prospect generating lots of buzz, sparring with good fighters and making regular appearances in Elie Sekbach videos, my overall impression of him is :dead

 

...and now he's going to let a freaking Georgian last the distance and push Usyk vs. Rodriguez into "potentially conflicting with Jones vs. Maccarinelli" territory. :exmad I hate you, Bekman!

 

Georgians are out-jabbing their opponents today, I'll give 'em that much.
