Well , Imho - usyk with his incredible duck of parker on an "invisible injury" extension and the promise to fight the winner of parker-wardley to just throw the belt do duck wardley and the callout of wilder to duck kabayel to now avoid even shot to pieces wilder to fight verhouven clearly outperforms bowe and in fact puts usyk in the hall of fame , especially when he has faced 5 guys total at heavy in his career and we compare it to how many opponents bowe faced .

Not a good comparison. The better one would be: Lennox Lewis dropping the IBF belt ducking Chris Byrd pursuing the rematch with Tyson or Larry Holmes dropping the WBC belt ducking Greg Page to fight Marvis Frazier.

 

Usyk is not a ducker he is a victim of business circumstances as are the majority of boxers. Ducks do happen but he is not ducking anyone....ignoring the fact he has earned the right to do whatever he wants with his career right now. If your excuse is he hasn't because he holds belts why do you care about belts anyway? They are lame. Usyk is not lame. He is sexy like Tyson fury.

Turki is kindly giving activity fight payouts for Usyk and Fury whilst they arrange their big summer/ end of year fights. Usyk isn't going to bust his aging body for nothing. Parker didn't deserve the Usyk fight anyway nutjobs were hyping his average ass up.

 

He didn't earn shyte. He's the heavyweight champion of the world and has obligations of fighting top and mandatory contenders. The world doesn't revolve around him. They earned the shot at the crown and Usyk should give it to them. Otherwise, he's just another Fury.

 

Don't forget Bowe made offers to Lennox and he actually signed to fight Lennox.

Yep, in fairness to Bowe he was lined up to fight Lennox Lewis but unfortunately
Lewis lost to McCall so that scuppered their proposed fight.

He beat 4 contenders. One was coming off a loss to an MMA fighter and another had the most losses in the top 150.

Hes not ducking just Kabayel and Parker hes aging out an entire generation of HWs.

A very important aspect of being a champion is not just fighting the big names, but also your mandatory’s and other not so great contenders (what so-called “fans” of boxing call bums).

the idea is consistency against several different fighters with varying styles etc.
for example, no point beating up the same 2 big names 20x and claiming you’ve cleared out. It’s better to beat 20x different fighters, some with lesser names…

after all, two things, it’s quite common that the lesser name fighters end up causing more of a problem than the big name ones (causing upsets)
And, if this didn’t happen, there would be no path for others in the division

 

No fan of boxing should be advocating for a fighter to not fight as often and just chill.

their job is to get in the ring and fight. If they don’t want to fight twice a year (not much) they should vacate and let the world carry on.

Nobody deserves any long break whilst being an active fighter or champion. Not usyk, not anyone else either. Either your active or your not.

an actual annoying part is, fury was like this and I thought it was killing hw boxing, but at least fury is openly a selfish person who has no integrity. usyk is supposed to be a stand up guy with integrity, but he’s doing the same as fury.

 

Guys these days have thin resumes due to fighting so infrequently. They don't fare well against more active fighters of earlier eras.
