I really don't care who wins although I picked usyk 9th round KO for the first match.

My main problem is the type of oppositions fury faces(chisora trilogy, Schwartz, Wallin, ngannou)struggles with them and get his minions to defend him as the best.

He ran from usyk for 3 years until the Saudis tricked him with $200m. That wasn't enough bait until $50m (easy money) Ngannou was added to it. I don't want a champion who wants $250m to fight a "middleweight midget".

If fury manages to win, even $200m won't make him fight any risky challenger ever again.

It would be better for Usyks legacy if he lost to Fury in a rematch, than if he wins a rematch.

    Wild take.

Indeed, it's quite ridiculous that he could think that and still be capable of forming a coherent sentence.

I'd give that a full 5 on the pissed Dumbo scale: :elefant::elefant::elefant::elefant::elefant:

    Trilogy? No thanks.

Fury should get up off his ass, attempt to emphatically reverse the controversial Ngannou fight and also fight AJ to name just two fights he should have otherwise.

Usyk won when it counted most - first Undisputed HW Champion in 24/25 years.

There were no excuses for Fury even though many excuses have been plied after the fact.

    So MUCH woulda, shoulda, coulda.....

It wasn’t close and the referee did blatantly rob Usyk of the TKO in round 9. No question.

Usyk wasn’t dominated at any point during the fight.

Did he gas a bit and encounter a bit of a rough patch during some of the mid rounds? - sure.

Round 9 didn’t turn the fight. Usyk laid the ground work from rounds 1-3. He reconnected with his early rounds investment from round 7 onwards. He clearly hurt Fury in round 8 also.

Round 9 was the crescendo - not an abstract turn around. That narrative is completely false.

The interesting thing is that many say they felt Usyk was ready to go - but he wasn’t KD’d, nor was he careering around the ring bouncing off all ropes like a WWE wrestler prepping for a coat hanger move - certainly, Usyk was not near being knocked out.

And YET, I suspect that a good number of the same people who THOUGHT Usyk was just about gone, somehow found it easy to ignore the far worse state Fury was in during round 9.

Round 9 when Fury was actually GONE - saved by a ref who irrefutably impeded Usyk TWICE during his assault and a ref who intervened ONLY to save Fury.

Yes, I’m sure many of those same people defended the referee’s actions - twisting the tale even more by also praising Fury for “somehow” surviving that round.

Somehow? Lol. We KNOW how - and the ref was also kind enough to lead Fury part way back to his corner.

And correct me if I’m wrong but the one judge who voted in favour of Fury was appointed by the WBC, no?

Oh yeah? But you can’t say the same for all the people saying Fury sucks, was never any good, beat a Wilder who was never any good, and an aging and mentally compromised Klitschko - while at the same time saying Usyk is one of the greatest heavyweights of all time?

I like Usyk and think he’s great, but I don’t discredit the class of best opponents.. My post was clearly sarcastic and more of mocking the Usyk fans who discredit Usyks best opponents while saying he is a top ATG….

Fury doesn't suck - he's a very good fighter who was overhyped as an ATG without the record to back it up.

Wilder was always a hypejob with a resume thinner than concentration camp toilet paper - anybody who disputes that fact DKSAB.

Wlad... Aging is a fact. Mentally compromised is to some extent a fact - the only question is how much that devalues his win... A bit, but not a huge amount would be my answer.

I tend to assess fighters on merit, not whether it might help me hype someone else up ;)

That kind of biased assessment led people to claim Ortiz was a contender because it bumped Wilder - a nonsense.

Fury is a very good win for Usyk - not just because he's a very good fighter, but because Usyk had the deck stacked against him and still made it clear... Exactly as he did against Joshua.

ATG at heavy is difficult given how short Usyks run at the weight will have been in the end - he's in the running for goat at cruiser though for certain.

Agreed across the board. Usyks run is short, but wins over Joshua and Fury alone are enough to make him in ATG. He might not be making the very top due to his short run, but he’s up there.

I wonder what are the salaries of Usyk and Fury for the 1st and 2nd fights.

I nail my colours to the mast for Mr Usyk, and i hope he wins emphatically, as hearing Fury say postfight that sympathy for Ukraine was behind the judges' awarding a split-decision victory to Usyk, was a defenceless, arrogant, and sore loser statement.

Yeah, all the more so because the implication is that some of the idiots on these forums saying that Fury was never any good have some bearing on the history books or Usyk's legacy.
