Sithsamerchai was the #1 at minimumweight entering the Kazuto Ioka fight on 2/11/11. Look at the opposition he was taking entering that fight and what he has done since. It's interesting:

    '07- Omar Soto, 11-0-1, W SD12
    '07- Eagle Den Junlaphan, 18-1, W UD12, for Junlaphan's WBC 105 pound title
    '08- Junichi Ebisuoka, 17-10-3, W KO9, WBC defense
    '08- Pornsawan Porpramook, 21-1, W UD12, WBC defense
    09- Muhammad Rachman, 62-7-5, W TD11, WBC defense
    '09- Juan Palacios, 26-2, W MD12, WBC defense
    '10- Yasutaka Kuroki, 23-3-1, W UD12, WBC defense
    '10- Pornsawan Porpramook, 22-3, D MD12, WBC defense

Since the epic Ioka body shot KO loss, Oleydong has jumped 3 divisions from 105 to 115 with no stops between...

    His opposition:
    Manoprungroj- debut
Geraldo- 22-3-3, for vacant WBC International Silver 115 pound title
Canoy- 13-1-1, for vacant WBC International 115 pound title
    Nakagama- 14-7-3, WBC Int. defense
    Bantigue- 21-17-7
    Kimura- 18-4, WBC Int. defense
    Bito- 21-9-3, WBC Int. defense
    Buckie- 14-26-6
    Hisataka- 21-9-1, WBC Int. defense
    Pena- 26-14-2
    Fidal- 19-33-1
    Garcia- 24-14-1, WBC Int. defense
    Fidal- 20-34-1
    Nakagama- 16-10-3, WBC Int. defense
    Sandeep- debut
    Escaner- 10-1, WBC Int. defense
    Sandeep- 0-2

    He is up to 52-1-1 (18 KO's)

What is this guy doing? No motivation for another world title?

    Right?

He's got a who's who at 105 in those couple years he was there... Pornsawan X2, Rachman, Palacios, and Junlaphan.

    It's just totally random.

Also, I think it's weird for Akira Yaegashi to be bypassing 108 to 112 to fight Igarashi in April. Oleydone plans to bypass both into 115? Lets see something special then, show us.

Anybody have any thoughts on the 45-1-1, with 16 KO's, Thai fighter? He's only 27 years old. Dude was really on pace to have a hell of a resume, even if all of his decisions are close or controversial.

This is off topic but there are guys named Pornsawan, Poonsawat, and now Oleydong? :huh

John, Jim, and Joe has to mean something funny somewhere in the world.

  6. Don't know why The Ring rate him as number 10 Jr Bantamweight- he hasn't done anything there yet.

I'm guessing he was struggling for weight against Ioka, that's why he moved up a few divisions .

An all Thai showdown against Kokietgym or Rungvisai would probably earn him some wonga in his homeland.

Wouldn't favor him over either though...

My thoughts are they Oleydong is a great name, like Golden Johnson but a little more funny.

Oleydong v Tepparith v Suriyan (any selection of the fights) could be great domestic scraps in Thailand.
