Oliver McCall could realistically pick up a national belt at age 55/56

He seems to be winning though, he even beat the man that beat his son.

If he is fighting low level opponents then I’m ok with it. He could maybe win a national title which would be an amazing achievement

Great shout on Arslan btw. And he is fighting at a high level, his cardio is outstanding

I guess it's fine if he goes 10 rounds, as long as the opposition is reasonable. And of course, they need to be extra cautious of him taking too many punches.
 But then again, this is Oliver McCall we are talking about! Dude could probably still take a 12 round beating without batting an eye.
Has he ever been knocked down?

I am all for older fighters continuing their careers, but only if they step down in competition.

Never even appeared hurt! The guy has the best jaw I have ever seen. Flush right hands from Lennox and just walking about. Christ.

I’m not advocating for him to start fighting contenders, and I don’t think he will, but he obviously loves fighting and he appears to be sticking to his level.

If he he should get the chance of a national title, NABA, NABF (I’m from Scotland I don’t know which is the most prestigious American national strap) and it’s against a beatable opponent then why not. It would be an incredible achievement, and would be quite inspirational considering his 25 year battle with drugs

Jesus, Arslan is nearly 49 and is ranked

    WBO- no.3

    IBF- no.6

    WBA- no.5

    WBC- unranked

    Wow.

Could Arslan beat WBA champ goulamirian?

I have zero knowledge on him.

WBO is held by bredis. Leave this alone at all costs.

IBF- dorticos, not as murderous as bredis but stay far away.

WBC is vacant but he is unranked.

As crazy as it may sound it really wouldn't surprise me if he beat Stiverne.

First off he was strung out on coke against Lewis. When you are on drugs some times you can take pain that you wouldn't normally be able to take. Lennox Lewis still hurt him anyway so I don't know what fight you were watching. Also Buster Douglas stunned him a few times and he would back off. I also believe Bruce Seldom was able to hurt him.

I predicted a while ago that Arslan was going to get another crack at the WBO. He is just slowly creeping up the rankings. I initially thought he would get the shot after Usyk vacated, but the second WBSS season likely kept it away from the old man.
Crazy to think that Arslan might be the oldest man to win a belt.

Who cares even in his prime he would have been outclassed by Ruiz and Wilder, McCall wasn`t ever any good at all.

I cannot believe a commission would sanction his fights

Sorry he was withdrawing from crack, that would make you weak as a kitten. Whether a man done an 8 week camp fully prepared, you have to have a diamond A+++ chin to take multiple flush shots from prime Lennox, whilst hands done, whilst not looking.

Buster Douglas could crack when he could be bothered.

    Best chin Iv ever seen.

What you talking about? He won a heavyweight belt legit. Against Lennox Lewis. That makes him no good. Internet jeezo.

You are renowned for your c.rap threads markant but please don’t start spewing crap about pros in here. All I said he’s still going strong mid 50s and never knocked down.

    Weird people man

Well, he probably would. Stiverne is 40 now and just how much has he trained in recent years? Or even in the last 5 years?
And he got absolutely destroyed in his last two outings.

McCall has more of a claim to continuing with his career than Stiverne. If one of those two had to retire, I would vote Stiverne.

I get ya. Especially with his continuous drug problems.

But he has a name. And he’s fighting relatively low-key fighters. If he starts getting all delusional Nigel benn style I would worry
