His future OS career may be over... He'll be a name in Oz H/W's for the next 10 years if a career continues.

 

I'm with Sox on this one - I've never been a big fan of Hoppa despite the fact he played for the mighty Sea Eagles - he was a thug on the field and it ended his NRL career.

He got an opportunity that other blokes who have been fighting for years have never got, and he failed miserably at that level - he should never have been matched with McCall.

Sorry if that sounds harsh, but it was the money that he was after, and he was obviously hoping a win over McCall would open doors for him in the US. The loss may well still open some for him in the US - who knows?

He knew at his age and with his limited skill he had to move fast, and it's come unstuck for him. Yes, I now the bloke's got a family to support but so do most other people.

That's not abuse, it's being realistic.

In any case, I thought exactly the same thing before the fight, just because now he has been ko'd doesn't make me think different. All it's done is confirm what I already thought.

Lastly, isn't being ko'd all part of a days work for a boxer, albeit, a bad days work. It wasn't his first, and it won't be his last.

 

I wanna know why is McCall still fighting someone should just feed him to V Klitschko already so he can retire.

Cheers Marcus - looks like McCall and his corner figured Hoppa out in the first half of the first round, saw the round out and then came into the second looking for the knockout.

 

So how much did Hoppa actually make from the fight, Sox?

 

hoppa got tired......****ed at about 2.30 of the first. he came out in the second desperate as he knewhe couldnt keep up.

he did fine. about as well as one could expect. pity he wasnt a bit fitter...a lot fitter. a better chin would have helped. helped to prolong the agony...

 

Hoppa looked great in the fight promo picture...6 pack and all....come fight night he didnt look so good....the abs must have been air brushed on :yep

 

I agree with all of this. I'm also sick of hearing the line -"Hoppa's got 8 kids to feed". The guy played first grade for a good 10 years and would have earnt a hell of a lot of money out of rugby league.He should have used this money wisely and he and his 8 kids would be set up for life, if he didn't then he has himself to blame and should learn some common sense.

 

I have no idea.
But one would think that it's a lot more than he would have made here for 1 fight, otherwise it makes his decision to go over there even more ludicrous.
