I know right? what's so hard about this for some people to understand? Why would you rate some erratic fringe contender who blew hot and cold over a long time dominant lineal champion.

Wlad has clearly been more consistent than the erratic Oliver McCall. That being said, Oliver's style and chin is all wrong for Wlad, and prime vs prime. McCall outlasts and stops Wlad. (There is not one characteristic that Ross Purrity possessed that Oliver does not have in spades. Quite frankly, Ross Purrity is a poor man's oliver McCall at best) In fact, there was an almost 10 year period where Oliver was slightly past prime, that this fight could have happened. I believe even a slightly past prime McCall may have still flattened Prime Wlad. It was certainly not a risk Wlad was interested in taking.

That may say more about the heavyweights over the last 12 years than anything else.

IF WLAD KLITSCHKO had knocked out Lennox Lewis in two rounds ... it would trump every win Wlad's ever had in his entire career.

No other win he's had would equal that. ALL of them probably wouldn't equal it (in his mind).

No matter how many Calvin Brocks he beat in his career, stopping Lewis would trump them all.

Also, Henry Akinwande had only lost to Lewis by DQ... and McCall knocked him out. David Haye had already been knocked out by a cruiserweight. Byrd had already been knocked out by Ike. Wlad beating Byrd and Haye - who he towered over and had every physical advantage over - wasn't more impressive or more difficult than knocking out Akinwande.

Also, beating Eddie Chambers or Calvin Brock isn't a bigger accomplishment than beating Larry Holmes, for God's sake. I don't know where the hell you got that.

And having to climb off the floor several times to get past Sam Peter isn't anything to write home about. When was McCall EVER in that bad of shape against anyone as Wlad was against Peter?

You need to stop talking, or I'm going to start to think Oliver does deserve to be rated higher.

McCall is deeply flawed. Wlad's longevity and all his defenses will certainly put him above McCall all time.

But McCall has better wins than Wlad.

Wlad would trade ALL his defenses for one second-round knockout over Lennox Lewis. Hell, he'd probably throw them out for one win over Larry Holmes.

Because his resume is sorely lacking in all-timers.

    :good

Who were the two great fighters? A 200 year old viagra using Holmes and a green Lennox whom he got lucky against. Wlad is one of the most dominant world champions in recent history.. McCall could have established himself as the same had he not lost his one alpha strap to Frank Bruno :lol::lol::lol::lol:
