So it's well know that McCall has never been knocked down in a match. He's certainly got one of the best chins of all time in boxing, possibly the best. He claims in interviews that he's never been knocked down in sparring (and I think the Tyson camp confirmed he was never knocked down by Tyson?), and never even hurt by a punch. But frankly I remember he looked a bit staggered by Bruno in their fight. Anybody recall him ever being hurt or staggered, official fight or sparring? Also, for other fighters people love to point to slips and call them uncredited knockdowns, anyone have an example of him slipping or anything that could be debatable?
McCall has had over 50 fights and very few were punchers. his chin is good but its a myth its some kind of greatest ever. he fought in the 80s and 90s and somehow never fought foreman morrison mercer tyson holyfield tua bowe witherspoon golota ike holmes he fought 2 big punchers...lewis and bruno good chin, but massively over rated due to who he fought :nono
first off he ktfo'd lennox. and in the rematch where he didn't even throw punches...lewis didn't do ****. he fought and beat holmes and had a split decision loss to tony tucker who only had a loss to tyson. he also handed bruce seldon his first loss. he ko'd maskaev...and akiwande. he has a split decision win over oquendo. he was a rough dude. i've never seen him hurt or buckled. dude has the biggest hands i have ever seen on a man.
holmes shouldnt have been on the list, I meant Bonecrusher Smith also throw on the list of punchers he never fought Razor Ruddock ..... he ko'd Mascaev? so did 7 other people including nagy aguilera :-( besides we are talking about his chin, not his wins..... my point was that he didnt fight any of the big punchers over a 20 year career except 2 dudes...so to rate his chin as god like is bullshi.t because of his opponents......
he dropped tyson in sparring. lewis was ranked number 1 and was side stepped by tyson when mcall ko'd him. by the time he was on the scene...a lot of the other guys u mentioned were on the downslide and wanted no part of mccall. mccall was the first guy to ko maskaev. he was also the first to ko lewis. tyson never dropped him. lewis never dropped him. in the heavyweight division...all it takes is one shot. he's been doing something right.
Did you even read iceman or my posts? This isn't about his overall resume, its about his chin. The question is can anyone think of a time he was buckled, wobbled, or slipped in a fight or sparring. He's regarded by many as the best chin of all time, I'm not convinced, and iceman seems even less convinced than me. But I'd like examples

keep in mind they pulled him straight out of rehab for that fight....and lewis still couldn't do ****.
solid chin yes best chin ever, fu.ck no Z Maverik went 12 rounds with lewis, is his chin the best ever too? holyfield went 12 rounds with him twice....what does that make him?
McCall has a good chin, he stopped Lewis in the second round, lost in rematch because Don King appears to have pulled him out of rehab, still, McCall just stood there and let Lewis hit at will, but was never hurt or staggered..........
