Is it really as granite as some people are saying? I mean, no-one can deny he's got a good chin but lets see, would he go 12 with Klitschko? Could he take 12 rounds of Sam Peter?

Is he genuinely unknockoutable or is he just a tough mofo? I'd love to see him fight David Tua, coz Tua's left hook is probably 2nd only to Joe Frazier in the entire history of boxing, would McCall be able to withstand a flush Tuaman left-hook?

Well, Lewis took the Tua hooks pretty well.

Mccall's chin is legendary, but its only a matter time before he gets caught something big and goes down from it, the mans like 42 yearsold and doesnt see the punches coming as well. If he fought Tua it would go to a decision, but if he fought Wlad it might be a late stoppage.

eventually his chin will soften everyones does eventually. but there is no denying that at his best he was perhaps as you say unknockoutable

I think that's right on the money. IF McCall keeps fighting, he will likely eventually be knocked down, and maybe even stopped. But the fact that he has been able to take his chin into his early 40s is pretty amazing. Even Mercer, whose chin was nearly as good, was getting stopped by the time he was 40.

IMO, the only valid reason for arguing that Chuvalo had a better chin is that he fought in a better era. Otherwise McCall seems to have the best HW chin ever.

McCall is getting old. But if you are asking if early 90's McCall could go 12 rounds with Klitscho? Yup.....Peter? McCall would stop Peter before Peter stopped him. And he and Tua would just end up beating each other to death. But neither would fall.

I must say, that I rate David Tua's chin as being one of the very best ever. Although he was knocked down by Hasim Rahman, it was hardly a flush knockdown, and I've never seen him even bothered by taking big punches. ike Ibeabuchi was landing bombs on him all night long and Tua didn't budge.

I do agree though that, surely, at some point and the longer he fights on, even McCall's titantium chin must give in.

But prime McCall, the guy that went 300 rounds sparring with Tyson and never hit the deck...I think he's damn near unknockoutable, yeah.

The fact that he's screwed up his system so much with drug abuse and has taken so many punches...and STILL hasn't been down, that's amazing.

Imagine how well he could've done if he'd had a strict, disciplined lifestyle instead.

We're talking a prime McCall here people, stop bringing up an old one. And yes, he could most CERTAINLY take 12 rounds of punches from those guys, no question. He took shots from better punchers, including many many many many rounds against Tyson in his prime, never dropped.

If he made it through Lewis twice, why even discuss Wlad?

lewis was moving backwards and turning his head to his left when tua would land, basically there was hardly any weight behind them punches. lewis never took one good punch on the chin from the tuaman, all the shots landed whilst lewis was back pedalling FAST.

i have seen oliver take shots and he doesnt get hurt. even when he fought lewis, he might have been mentally hurt but not physically. he has been in with alot of solid punchers too.

yes i think he can last 12 rounds with wlad or peter!

  13. AGREED:good Mccall will be knocked down or out if he keeps fighting, after 40 the chin goes just like the legs:deal ..
Damn Mccall could have been a lot better if he would have taken his career more seriously when he was a lot younger, and left those Damn Drugs alone:-( what a waste..:patsch

There was plenty weight on this punch from Tua.

    and these

Mccall turned away from the Lewis shots in the rds when he dropped his hands and cried, they didnt land flush at that point in actual fact yet its those moments people base mccalls chin on often.

It's granite alright but nothing is forever and the man is too old now, Klitschko would knock him out cold within 3-4 rounds. Mercer has a granite chin and you saw what happened when he met Klitschko.
